The apartment is situated in the first floor of of a historical building in Eisenerz, an old mining town. The building is first documented to host a poor peoples hospital in 1461. Later on a mill was situated in the building and from the beginning of the 19 th century it is known as a hostelry called "zur blauen Kugel"
