Very functional accommodation, enough to have a pleasant stay near the center with access to restaurants on foot. Parking is available next to the listing. I highly recommend it.

Thank you very much for all the information she gave me in addition we arrived only at 10:30 p.m. because my niece took care of her pony (who was in an unknown box for the pompadour contest) and the lady was worried about not seeing us arrive (and she was right because we couldn't find the house). We only stayed one night but slept well. Recommended.

Hosts met me at the house, gave suggestions about the area. I stayed a month and had everything needed to do some cooking. Thiviers has a nice market Saturday mornings within walking distance. Also find a cinema and a few restaurants around this peaceful town. Easy drive to Perigueux, Brantome, St Jean-de-Cole, several nice Chateaux to visit in this area. I hope to be able to return soon!

What the listing does not emphasise enough is the high quality of the way this 300 year old property has been renovated. Plus, the decor and fittings are high quality: it really is like living in a real home, not simply a place that has been kitted out on a budget just for AirBnB. And... always a good sign.... the kitchen knives are sharp, there is an apron for the cook, and spices and herbs are provided. For those of you from the UK, think of the best of 'Rural Retreats' (a very high quality set of holiday rental properties.) The property is in a tiny hamlet of 3 houses. It really is a quiet and beautiful setting. Virginia is generous with access to the garden (which is shared with her home). She is the perfect combination of being friendly but not intrusive.
