What a great spot! Nestled in the woods in a peaceful and quiet setting this place is truly one-of-a-kind. The house is very unique with lots of character that sets it apart from the usual stays. It was clean and had all we needed. Our host Gramma Rikki was exceptionally warm and welcoming. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate, and we could not take advantage of all the outdoor spaces and amenities. We played pool, sat by the cozy fire and did some island exploring by car. All in all it was a very enjoyable and relaxing getaway despite the crummy weather. We hope to return one day and experience everything this wonderful place has to offer.

Matt and Lina’s place was like a little slice of heaven. The beds were comfortable. The place was clean. The pool was the perfect temperature.

We were 2 couples visiting the province for a family gathering. This place was absolutely perfect for us! Spacious, clean and beautifully decorated homes. The gardens are gorgeous and we grew attached to all the lovely animals outside the front door! The rural setting was close to all the urban places we visited....and we enjoyed getting to know the surrounding area. Krista was responsive and helpful....and gave us lots of great tips! This is the best airbnb experience we have ever had!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here! Very family friendly - we used the pack'n'play and highchair, as well as the beach toys provided! There were many "kids" cups and plates which made meal time a breeze. The fully enclosed deck was also nice for the kids to play on. There were a couple things that would be nice for a handyman to come work on (tightening up toilet seats/towel rods, etc.) but overall we really enjoyed our stay!

Our family of 5 plus our dog enjoyed our stay at Oceanside Escapes. Johanna and Julie were readily available to answer any questions that we had before and during our stay. The cabin was well-supplied and had a binder listing many local recommendations. It was a short walk to Rathtrevor Beach which we all enjoyed, particularly our dog. All essential amenities and many attractions were nearby. The central air conditioner was especially helpful in keeping the whole cabin cool during the hotter days. We will be back.

Great location and very easy to find. The house was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped for our stay. It was close to the mall with groceries and restaurants, and we loved how convenient everything was while still being in a quiet neighbourhood. Bowen was a good host and was very responsive. Pool was not heated but would be lovely on a hot day. We enjoyed sitting on the patio in the evenings and watching the different birds fly by, including a local owl.

Great little get away. Pool was awesome, hot tub was great. Great fenced front yard for the dogs. Back yard was quite big to be able to play with the kids. Very clean and tones of room. Ryan was great to deal with. Will definitely rent again on our next trip down. Thank you

We had a fantastic stay at this Airbnb! The space was beautifully updated, spotless, and had an incredible view that made our trip even more enjoyable. The location was great, and we loved how comfortable and well-maintained everything was. The only minor downside was that the units aren’t very soundproof, but since we rented both, it wasn’t a problem for us. Overall, we highly recommend this place and would absolutely stay here again!

Absolutely perfect!! The views from every room were breathtaking and having access to the private beach was a nice way to wind down in the evenings. Dan and Sam were a pleasure as well, super easy to communicate with and proactive in letting us know where was a potential issue with power (everyone turned out fine!). Also enjoyed a few close hiking trails and some yummy food. Overall, a perfect place to have a mix of being active in nature with relaxing and unwinding. Would love to stay here again!

The property is absolutely beautiful and Heidi is the perfect host. Upon check-in, we were greeted with flowers, a basket of fruit, and makings for a great breakfast. The space is large, clean, and very well appointed. The property is so nice that it was difficult to leave to explore the Island! 🤣 Heidi was very warm and welcoming. She made sure that we were happy and was very responsive. Communications were wonderful. We were a group of 8 and never felt like we were in each other’s way. Thanks you for a wonderful visit!!

Truly one of the best Airbnbs we've stay in. The house is better than we could have imagined and lake is even closer than what it looks like in the pictures. My five year old son says his favorite thing(s) about the house is: jumping into the lake, the hot tub, the water play, jumping in the lake, the big couch, the showers, and jumping into the lake... Hoping to come back again!

The place was beautiful, both inside and outside of the property. We had a beautiful garden view, and a small patio to enjoy our Breaky in the morning! The place itself was very large, with a beautiful, modern kitchen. The bedrooms were nice, with one looking out/ opening up to the garden. The host left a nice booklet of all the best places to shop and eat — which was actually very helpful!! The parking was very good, and we even had “spare parking” If we needed it. Overall, very good stay, and we will be booking it again.

My Family and I had a wonderful stay at Gabriel's property. We were a group of 8 adults and 2 children, and we all fit comfortably inside his home. There was a lot of seating available to dine together as a family, and a lot of separate areas for when we wanted some time for ourselves. The kids enjoyed exploring the beaches for different sea creatures when the tide was low. I would recommend water shoes or something more sturdy than flip flops. The sandy areas created strong suction against our soles, and there are a lot of rocks and shells around the shore area. During high tide, we were visited by some sea lions in the distance. The kitchen was well equipped. We cooked many of our meals and there were ample pots, pans, seasonings, plates and cutlery available for our use. The property was clean, and it good condition. Plenty of towels were provided for the beach and hot tub. I would recommend this property for large groups who want a peaceful beach vacation.

The location of this place couldn't be better for exploring the Island and especially for mountain biking (hosts were very accommodating with letting us store/charge our ebikes in their garage during our visit). Very easy access to everything North and South of Nanaimo as well as the city itself. The apartment is very peaceful with your own private garden/sitting area. While Nash and Louise are delightful hosts the real star of this property is Ollie, the most well behaved dog you will ever meet. Ollie greeted us upon our arrival and checked in most mornings to make sure we were well taken care of. Be sure to get Nash and Louise's restaurant recommendations.

Awesome place! The house was very well appointed. Host always responded to our messages. Walkable to all stores and food options. Would definitely recommend this place if staying in and around lake Cowichan.

This place was perfect for my husband, dog and I. We loved the ocean view and access in the back of the property and it was easy to unwind here after a long travel day. One of the really nice parts is that you're only a 17 min walk from town. You can walk along the highway to get there but there is no sidewalk for most of the way. With our spirited dog, we found a quieter way by turning left onto Terrett Street and walking along Lanark Road. By the time Lanark Road ends you can go back up to Sooke road and there is a sidewalk. Tiffiny was also a great host. She was very responsive and proactive when we had questions about the bedroom ceiling fan. She even brought over a stand alone fan for us. Thank you for the great stay!

We were really happy with David’s guest suite. It was exactly as shown in the pictures, and check in/check out were very easy. There wasn’t a microwave, but the stove/oven makes up for it. We appreciated how compact and tidy everything was, and I found the bed very comfortable. We were happy with our 12 day stay here, and would gladly stay here again when we come back to the area.

We loved the house and the area. Kurt responded immediately to all out concerns, of which there were many. The area is lovely. We felt very welcome.

Great location in the little hamlet of Crofton right near salt Spring Island some very good mountain biking, and gravel trails nearby. Well maintain place really wonderful host , great patio overlooking a beautiful yard and lots of room for additional guest. A great spot to stay.
