Holiday rentals with a kayak in Digby County

Every step of the way - John was a a great communicator, making sure we had all the information we needed for our visit and the surrounding area. His cozy get away, is surrounded by beautiful nature, very private and yet only 10 minutes from the town of Annapolis Royal with all the amenities. The open fireplace, with lots of DRY wood and kindling was a bonus as the weather was stormy during our visit. John also checked in with us a few times to make sure we could get in and out of the driveway during the storm. 2 lovely balconies would be perfect in the summer for sitting out and looking into the trees - and which we were able to use this trip for barbequeing in the snow storm:) Very dog friendly as located off the main road and km of trails right out the door for walking off leash or snowshoeing. Would absolutely return at any time of year!

Beautiful and relaxing location staying in a contemporary home which blends seamlessly with the setting. The rocky beach is down a staircase and we loved strolling and soaking in the sea air. The kitchen is very well equipped and we appreciated all the extras such as olive oil and spices. Kate is a very accommodating host and our short stay was really superb.

Bertrand's place was very nice and well designed. His response to messages were extremely fast. If you book one of his cabins make sure to book the sauna. It was very private and relaxing. Thank you Bertrand for a wonderful weekend and we hope to return someday.

This house on Lake Gardner was PERFECT for our family gathering to celebrate my daughter's wedding. The outdoor seating and beach front was more beautiful than the photos for chatting, eating, and playing in the sand with a toddler. The lanterns going out to the point were so beautiful and the colors on the lake and other side at sunset were spectacular. Thank you so much Natalie and Eric for sharing this home with us!

I have been thinking what I would include in this review since we stepped foot on Ginny’s beautiful property. None of what I’ve thought about saying scratch the surface of how amazing the property is. The photos don’t do it justice! The property is in amazing condition and well appointed with comfortable linens and furniture. We particularly appreciated the abundant supply of dark towels to help with washing everything from sticky fingers to removing mascara. Ginny has thought of everything you could possibly need, want or need before we did. Everything you might need or want on a whim has been thoughtfully provided by Ginny. Oh, and on the topic of Ginny… a better host has never existed! They’re so thoughtful, proactive and kind. Thank you for such a lovely and relaxing stay. Our only regret is not spending more time at your lovely property.

We felt lucky to find a place so close to the beautiful Kejimkujik National Park!! The yard is huge and beautiful with a lovely walk down to the lake. Comfortable beds, nice hot water, easy to control the temperature in the house. Only negatives; upstairs bathroom only has a tub, kayaks need some work.

Our family of six adults really enjoyed this beautiful, well-appointed house — particularly the location. This new home has incredible views and we spent considerable time enjoying the wildlife that came into the cove. The hot tub, sauna, croquet set, and kayaks were really special added bonuses of which we took advantage. The house had everything we needed in regard to linens, kitchen items, and entertainment. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. The location was very private and peaceful — we didn’t see another person save some friendly waves from passing boats. We drove about 25 minutes for a dinner in Shelburne and visited Digby (2 hours away) and Mahone Bay (~1.5 hours away) while we were there, but also — because of the beautiful setting — ended up spending more time at the house than originally intended. Highly recommend!

Ryan was fantastic! He was clear about everything that we needed to know up front, was super helpful when I had questions (even when I realized after the fact he had already given me the information I was looking for lol), and the property was absolutely stunning and so much fun for everyone! We went as a group of 3 moms and 6 kids five and under. We will be back! Nothing was missed in this place, everything you could think you would need was there! Fantastic!

I appreciate the flexibility. I stayed there in the offseason, and when I asked to stay a little longer, it was no problem.

Absolutely beautiful, peaceful Air Bnb. A true oasis in the woods, right on the lake. The house is spotless and thoughtfully appointed. The internet works great. Very happy to have found this place, as we will definitely be back.

We felt like we had a break from the world. It was peaceful, very cozy, charming, and comfortable. We slept like babies, even though it was cooler weather and we had to put wood in the stove for heat (something we enjoyed immensely). Kitchen was reasonably equipped, so we just cooked our own meals. If you’re ok with a few bugs and spiders here and there (nothing dangerous), you’ll love it. We plan to be back.

Nancy and Darren’s place was a slice of paradise. Our 2 big dogs, my husband and myself loved our time at the Red Door Barn. We started our mornings at Louis Head beach, located a short 5 minutes car ride. We had the beach for ourselves and our dogs loved playing fetch on the beautiful stretch of sand. The Red Door Barn is impeccable and Nancy thought of every little detail. It’s beautifully decorated. Extremely clean. And just perfect. We loved the extra dog friendly touches such as the doggie treats, the water bowl, the blankets and the big basket near the door full of little surprises. The kitchen is fully equipped. We cooked Lobster from the Wharf several times during our 12 nights stay. I highly recommend staying at The Red Door Barn. We can’t wait to come back.

This was a great stay and we hope to be back. The weather was less than favorable but it didn't matter, we loved staying here. Beautiful location and an amazing home. It had everything we needed!

We truly could not write a more raving review of Claudia and Dragonfly Dreams – 10s across the board! We were looking for a peaceful getaway to relax and de-stress and we got that and so much more. Claudia's cabin was so peaceful we slept 14 hours our first night! The cabin is absolutely perfect. No other properties are within sight, making this feel like you are in your own nature's paradise. The kitchen is well-stocked with utensils, cookware, and even spices, and we enjoyed staying in and cooking all our meals. The bed was extremely comfy (obviously!). We enjoyed a wonderful canoe and swim as well. We had to save the best for last – Claudia! Having stayed at many Airbnbs around the world, Claudia is up there as the best host we've ever interacted with. She is so warm, kind and accommodating. She is extremely responsive to messages and truly went above and beyond to make our stay special. We are so grateful for her and we will definitely be back one day! Don't hesitate to book!

I had a different reason for staying at Mink Lake ... we are considering purchasing a property on Mink Lake and I wanted a place to stay that would allow me to get a better feel for the lake and the area. Amanda was super helpful in accommodating my timeline and duration and was very good at communicating throughout our reservation and stay. Much appreciated!

A wonderful Maine camp! Very relaxing spot and we appreciate that we could bring our dog. The fishing was great, the bass seemed to be hitting on anything.

Beautiful spot for a getaway, me and the gf really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. Gary has a lovely piece of land on the water with lots of amenities to keep you occupied! The host was super friendly while definitely be going back!!

Loved this spot. If you enjoy a cozy rustic cabin (with electricrity and plumbing) with a view of the water then this is perfect. I plan on staying again if I'm back out this way.

This was the perfect getaway for some tired city folk. Abby was so thoughtful in leaving us some fresh eggs, an immaculately clean place, and just so many other little details that were so appreciated. My husband and I didn’t catch anything this time, but we’ll definitely be back to try our luck again !

This is a lovely cottage cabin with everything you need to spend a night or five. It’s close enough to other towns for restaurants, groceries, and gas. Super peaceful and beautiful place to have a getaway. ✨

Our family had a great time at John’s beautiful cabin! We fished, painted rocks, played games, made s’mores in the fire pit, and explored the surrounding area. The cabin itself was beautiful and clean! If you are fan of fishing and want to relax in a peaceful environment, this is the place for you!! Definitely recommend to everyone!!
