Holiday houses in Dedin

This was our favorite Airbnb rental ever. A cassowary walked through the yard 45 minutes after we pulled in! First the location is stunning. The house is 2 km down a dirt and gravel road of the main sealed road. It is surrounded by lush rainforest and is extremely quiet. We could not hear or see any other neighbors and felt like we had the rainforest to ourselves. The house itself is spacious with a large main room and two bedrooms. The main area has lots of seating, TV, kitchen, and dining area. Even though the house is off grid it has all the comforts including air conditioning, dishwasher, and good WiFi. The outdoor area is very pleasant with seating areas under both front and back porches and an outdoor dinner table. There is a very small pool that we didn't use but looks lovely. There is also a grill and laundry facilities outside. There are small sacrifices being off grid (you have to watch power usage at night) but if you want a place that is truly remote this is it!

We loved our stay at Melissa’s. It is a modern and very pretty house. It is immaculately presented and extremely comfortable. The bed is very comfortable and the pillows were wonderful. Melissa has tried to think of everything. I have multiple back fractures and found the sofa extremely comfortable. We really enjoyed the surrounds and the beach just across the road.

It was the stay I really needed. It’s been rather stressful on a work and personal front lately and I needed a space to really unwind. Get out of the hustle and bustle and be present. Claire’s place allowed me to do just that. It was the perfect sanctuary to reconnect with the kids over cooking and movies, and the perfect launch pad to the best experiences FNQ has to offer. The beds are so comfy, I dozed off in less than 5mins after lying down- something I haven’t done in years. Amenities are super close by, we must’ve gone to the well-stocked supermarket daily! And of cos Prices Plus was good fun for the kids. I highly recommend Claire’s place- last but not least, she’s the hostess with the mostest. Always so prompt with big and small questions, and always accommodating.

Butterfly Bend was idyllic and beyond our expectations, we fell in love with this place. Emanuelle, Sharon and Juta (owners/caretakers) were all incredibly hospitable and put in a great effort to make our stay perfect. Excellent communication and local information, in the lead up and during. This off-grid home contained everything we needed for a great holiday, all the creature comforts and was easy living for our two young families. The spa overlooking the bubbling creek was a highlight, and the local beach a short walk. In every house space, you felt totally immersed in the rainforest. Lovely large indoor and outdoor dining and lounging areas, well-equipped kitchen with large oven/stove and serving window to the deck. Lush creek at your back door to explore. We highly recommend Butterfly Bend and will definitely re-book here when we return to the area. Thank you sincerely - Sharon, Emanuelle and Juta!

Such a stunning location & cottage. Right in the heart of the rainforest, secluded & tranquil & yet easily accessible to exploring the Daintree area. The view from the verandah is just beautiful - the perfect place to relax & really unwind. Karen was a wonderful, attentive host, making sure we had all we needed. Thank you for a very special & memorable stay in tea tree cottage.

Such a lovely space to stay. Very peaceful and felt very isolated from the main house. Beautiful view over their gardens and trees. Super clean and everything you might need. Loved their little dog Jessie who would pop over to visit. We were also lucky enough to receive some fresh eggs from their hens which were delicious. Really enjoyable space to relax and BBQ in the evening. Close drive to Port Douglas, but lovely being away in the country. Would 100% recommend to stay.

This home is simply amazing. It is private and peaceful. The beautiful, outdoor surroundings are part of the actual home, and the outdoor pond/pool was pristine and fed with water from the mountain. You can tell the house design was well thought out and built with love. Alan and his family went the extra distance to make sure we had everything we needed and more. It is a magical place to stay and we can't recommend it enough! We didn't want to leave it was so beautiful.
