Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Death Valley

We had a wonderful stay. The home has a great floor plan and has great space for hanging out both inside and outside. Well stocked kitchen. Tremendous views from the front yard and backyard. Very private. This worked out well for our group. We had hiking permits for Mt Whitney and the property is conveniently located to the trail head.

I can’t recommend this Airbnb enough! From the moment I arrived, everything was absolutely perfect. The host went above and beyond to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience—communication was prompt, friendly, and super helpful throughout my stay. The space itself was spotless, beautifully decorated, and stocked with everything I needed (and more!). It truly felt like a home away from home. The attention to detail was outstanding—from the cozy linens and thoughtful touches to the local tips and recommendations that really enhanced my trip. I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better place or a better host. If you’re considering booking this property, do it—you won’t regret it! Thank you again for an unforgettable stay.

Checkers place was on the whirl side of town, which made it a little easier to get to death Valley national Park. About 50 minutes. It was super easy getting in and everything was as described.

Staying at Celeste’s Gecko Guest House was, quite simply, a wonderful stay. The house is very spacious and immaculately clean and maintained. What left a lasting impression, though, was the level of thoughtfulness from the hosts. Celeste and Mark have anticipated needs most wouldn’t even think of. From the well-stocked essentials to the subtle comforts that make you feel instantly at home, it’s clear this is hosting done with care and intention, not formula. The Gecko Guest House doesn’t just meet expectations — it confidently exceeds them. Highly recommended.

This was my second time staying here, it's been a few years since the last time. It was just as clean and well taken care of this time as it was last time. well supplied kitchen, clean linens etc... was better than home :-) We immediately felt comfortable (advice to all who stay there, every light switch is upside down from what you expect). We were busy all day and could just come back and collapse in comfort just like we were in our own homes. I would recommended the house highly, and it's my go to place for when I visit the area. We will be back!!! This was a great experience. The pools were pristine clean- really impressed! Make sure you bring food to grill and your firewood; closest store will be 30 miles out.

Vanessa's property on our way to the Death Valley was perfect! It was spacious and exactly as described in the listing. Vanessa herself was a super communicator, always responsive and so caring. We highly recommend her place for anyone looking for a comfortable and well-managed Airbnb experience on your way to the Death Valley.

Very satisfied, good place. It was a nice little house with cold ac and hot water. It was located in an rv park, which suprised me a little. We would recommend!

Ann's place was a great destination to stay in a small town near Death Valley and explore the park. Beatty is closer than other destinations, and although it's a smaller town, it has enough options to stock up for a run to the national park. The place has plenty of space and we got complimentary wine, which we also appreciated. Would recommend the two cabins to easily house a larger group for a home base to Death Valley.

This was the first air bnb I felt comfortable enough to take my socks off! It was that clean! Everything was absolutely perfect. There was a pitcher of water filled and ice cube tray was ready to go for us when we got there. The guidebook was so helpful! The town is small and quaint. The donkeys were so adorable! Easy drive to Death Valley. Smokin J’s bbq was amazing as well! If we ever travel back to the area, we’d stay here in a heart beat!

If you want to stay in the peace and quiet of beautiful nature, but you don’t want to sacrifice your personal comfort, this is a great option for you! John’s place was family-friendly, kid-friendly and dog-friendly! We truly loved our stay here and would definitely recommend it to others and return. Thank you John!

We loved our stay here! It was clean and spacious for our family of 4 + our dog. Steven provided all the info ahead of time, even instructions on how to most efficiently cool down the home and was very responsive to any questions I had about the home or things to do in the area. Steve suggested we check out the Trail of 100 Giants and it was perfect for us! I’m also used to other Airbnb having a list of things to do before check out but Steve said not to worry and just to enjoy. He was also flexible with check out time which made it so relaxing for us & was very appreciated. Only thing that surprised us was the photos gave the impression that we were isolated from everyone else, but there’s actually homes all around. This is not a big deal though as it was still plenty of privacy. I didn’t see anyone while there so it checked off what we were looking for and we would love to come back. We had a wonderful experience.
