Cabin holiday rentals in Custer County

We had an incredible stay!! We loved the cabin and the views are so beautiful! Great area- close to a lot of fun attractions in the area as well! Thanks for having us!!! 😁

We visited the Needle Highway, Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse. It was very close to these attractions. We saw wild turkeys and a marmot which we thought were beautiful in the yard. The place was very clean and spacious. The hot tub worked great. It was the best Airbnb we have ever been too.

Paula and her family are wonderful hosts. They stay in the small home on property and you really don’t even know they are there. Paula shows the best amount hospitality. Stella ,their dog is the sweetest. They keep her on their part of the property. The cabin is one of the cleanest airbnbs I’ve stayed in. Paula keeps a fully supplied kitchen with all you would need, if you like to cook your own meals. There’s a little ‘echo’ for playing your favorite music. Out in the backyard is a great hot tub. Privacy and having a peaceful experience is their M.O. We certainly had a peaceful and private experience. Paula makes great recommendations for anywhere you’d like to go from sight seeing & hiking to meals out. We went to the best coffee place in town on her recommendation and had to go everyday from the first time on. We went everyday for 1 week. It was the Hermosa Coffee house. The owner is super hospitable, she works with her daughters. She makes her own pastry. The maple bacon cinnamon roll is the best! The coffee is superb. Back to the house, the backyard is where we spent mornings reading and nights star gazing. The cabin is also central to lots of great South Dakota highlights, Custer state park, Mount Rushmore, the badlands, keystone, rock hunting, and downtown Custer. We would definitely stay again. We found South Dakota to take pride in being caring for others and hospitable. We loved our vacation. We loved our stay in Paula’s family cabin.

Great location, perfect space.

I can't say enough good things about our stay! The campground was in a great location, not far from Custer State Park and other fun activities, but still felt private. The cabin was adorable! Clean, modern, cutely decorated. We had a family of 5 and felt the space was a perfect size. The kitchen was clean and we'll equipped and we used the grill frequently. We enjoyed the outdoor space - the deck was beautiful. The kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Pool water was surprisingly warm. I have nothing bad to say and would return again!

Spacious, nicely decorated cabin. Comfy beds and linens. Private, surrounded by nature, yet very close to town. Loved having our morning coffee on the large deck watching the deer and bunnies. Would definitely stay again!

Wow! So glad I found this place! We loved the views of the pond and watching the Canadian Geese. On the drive out to the cabins, we saw deer, turkeys, and peacocks. The location is off the beaten path, but close enough to town for runs to the grocery store and ice cream shops in Custer. The best part of our stay was the COMFORTABLE BEDS! I am a Airbnb host myself, so I know the effort and care that goes into a great property and this place is a true GEM!

We had a fantastic stay. From the initial booking through check-out, Cindy and Stoney were fantastic hosts. The property is peaceful and we (myself, my wife, and our pup) felt right at home in the cozy cabin. Cindy and Stoney were very accommodating hosts and their dog buddy quickly became one of our pups best friends. We did a lot of hiking including Black Elk Peak, Cathedral Spires, Flume Trail, Palmer Canyon, Hell Canyon, Stockade Lake, and Sylvan Lake. All trails were anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour from the property which is pretty typical when traveling in the mountains. There were also trails located on the property which were fantastic as the property is connected to the National Forest. We downloaded the offline map from Google maps, marked the gate, and wandered all over the place for miles and miles. Cindy and Stoney are great people and to top it off are very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. When we visit again, this is where we will stay!

J&J Hospitality were outstanding and went above and beyond to make sure that our family vacation was perfect. Their Airbnb was private and peaceful. We had everything we needed for a week long stay. Would definitely recommend checking out their properties, you won’t be disappointed.

We loved our stay in the stargazer cabin! It was such a beautiful property, clean, and peaceful. Mackenzie’s recommendations for activities and restaurants were great! The heated mattress pad was perfect for our September stay! We would definitely stay here again 😊

Darcy's home in Custer was lovely! It was clean and very outdoorsy. The location was pretty great to most sites in the Black Hills area. The cabins lived next to some goats and horses that our toddler loved looking at. Thanks for hosting Darcy!

Great little cabin with big amenities in the Black Hills. Great for small families with pets. A great base camp close to many attractions. Great for first time and routine Black Hills visitors. Very quiet and peaceful with actual wildlife sightings. We look forward to staying again!

If you know what to expect it’s a great place. Surroundings are beautiful. I missed a hairdryer at the place but the rest was all there.Also We tripped several times on the patio’s down step. We really felt on vacation. Also close to Custer and Hill city.

Such lovely hosts!! A beautiful property and perfect for the few days we were there to see Custer State Park and Mt. Rushmore. They gave good recommendations and were very thoughtful and helpful. Beautiful camp/resort property tucked away from the road. For those of you that like to exercise, there is a running trail just across the street and the local YMCA is close by and does day passes.

even we stayed at a cold weather it was still memorable, the place is so beautiful and the view from our deck of the hills and the pack of deer that comes everyday without a miss was so amazing, our dog was even intrigued about the sound of nature, we will definitely stay again!!!

We loved Crystal’s cabin. We would recommend it to anyone. It felt like home, and was close to “downtown” Custer and a nice walking trail, as well as Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, the Crazy Horse Memorial, Wind Cave National Park, and the Mammoth Site at Hot Springs.

Thomas was the best host we could’ve asked for! His place was perfect for what we needed on our road trip to all the national and state parks in the area! It was so close to Wind Cave national park and Custer State Park! Thomas was very welcoming & helpful with any questions we had about his place or the area! We hope to return in the future!

We loved our stay in the Stargazer Cabin. Slept with the window open to the gorgeous view and sparkling stars. The private bathroom was great. Comfy king bed with quality linens. MacKenzie took great attention to detail.

Cabin was great! Coffee on the front porch. We saw deer, rabbits, turkey, and a coyote from the cabin. Sylvan Lake was everyone’s favorite stop. Thanks.

We loved our stay here. The cabin is historic and charming. Very pleasant and peaceful location. Lovely front deck for coffee or meals outdoors. Stockade Lake & Bismarck Lake right nearby, and easy drives to Legion Lake, Black Hills Playhouse, Crazy Horse, Sylvan Lake, etc. A short drive into the town of Custer if you need groceries or pie :) . Looking forward to staying again sometime.

The place is super pretty and quiet. The only thing that wasn’t the best were the beds. Super hard and no give. But otherwise super pretty place and location!
