Barley Hill guest annex, Northumberland.

The annex is a self contained guest suite providing comfortable accommodation (accessed through our house). Comprising a light double room with en suite WC, living area, kitchenette (mini fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, no hob/oven) and dining space. There is a private garden with table, chairs & BBQ. The shower room is across the corridor from the annex in the main house and you will have exclusive use. The house is located in the North Pennines, a short distance from Derwent Reservoir.

A tranquil garden retreat in a beautiful village

Our cottage is in a quiet corner of a pretty village. Views over the garden and nearby fields extend to the cathedral. Walks directly from here go through beautiful woods across fields to reach the river Wear. The local pub 400 yards away provides excellent affordable meals but is popular, so be sure to book. Teesdale, Raby, Auckland Castle, Beamish museum and the coast are only a drive away. Durham with its cathedral and castle are 10 minutes drive, supermarkets and leisure centre 5 minutes.

Cathedral, castle or Oriental museum? Durham’s world heritage sites are just a short drive or bus ride away. We’re handy for families visiting the university or to explore the area’s gems. Sustainable (PV) solar power, kitchenette, washer/drier, fast wi-fi, Netflix etc, car parking. Close to walks through woodland (5 minutes' walk away), a trip into Durham (4 miles) or Newcastle (20 miles). Pets welcome. Supermarket 5 mins walk away. We can include an additional single bed for a third guest.

Quiet space in the centre Barnard Castle, near the historic Marketcross. Perfect to explore all the independent shops and as a base for walking and cycling Teesdale. The Oaks is attached to our home. It has its own private entrance from the outside and internal doors are locked. It is an ensuite room set out like a hotel room. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS OUR FAMILY HOME AND IS NOT SUITED FOR A ROMANTIC/ PASSIONATE NIGHT AWAY BUT FOR GUESTS WANTING A PEACEFUL GETAWAY.. Wooden stairs lead up to this first floor bedroom that has its own decked area with outside furniture to enjoy the fantastic views.

Dunelm Studio, Durham City

Comfortable studio apartment for two. In great location a pleasant 10 minute walk, via the riverside from the historic city centre, with its many attractions and numerous options for shopping and entertainment. Could accommodate baby if necessary and I will provide travel cot and high chair if required at no extra cost. However, guests must provide own bedding and other requirements for baby feeding etc.
