Family-friendly holiday rentals in Clifton Beach

Platypus Retreat is everything it says and more. Secluded, romantic, beautiful. We picked up Groceries before we arrived, but found out when we got there that we didn’t need as much as we thought. Condiments, tomato sauce, salad dressing, butter, all sorts of spices were all there. While we had a bit of trouble using the oven, it was no problem- we used the bbq instead. We arrived to music playing softly and homemade bread. Just wow. And there was complimentary milk as well. Oh- and as true Americans, we fully appreciated the ice machine. The pool was delightful, albeit slightly chilly for us. We could have asked Gemma to adjust, but it was our last night and we just relaxed in the spa instead- as the rain fell and the local animal life were serenaded us. Couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing way to end our whirlwind trip to AU.

Great spot for us and our 2 kids. Very spacious and clean. The pool is fabulous and you can walk to everything. Highly recommend.

This Airbnb was great! Lindy we an amazing host and very quick to respond to messages. The apartment was great and very close to all the shops and beach. We loved the pool in the complex. We were travelling with a young toddler and the apartment was perfect.

Kay was very helpful - she picked us up from the airport and took time to show us around the apartment. The apartment was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The location is excellent, handy for everything you need. There is a tour desk downstairs where you can book your activities. Overall, highly recommended.

Great owners. Very accommodating. The fridge was stocked with items such as milk and bread. A lovely place!

We had a wonderful few days at Florian and Kelli’s home.I was on my own during the day and felt perfectly safe in the house and locality, which is a major plus for an Irish old lady in my mid 70s! Florian was very kind allowing us more flexible times for arrival and departure, so many thanks.

We had a beautiful two days at Mary’s place. It’s an absolutely stunning location, so peaceful and serene. Mary has thought of everything to make sure your stay is relaxing and wonderful. The outdoor kitchen is excellent, and we loved the outdoor living - we spent almost all our time out there on the deck snuggled on the couch or sitting on the grass! We fed the horses and chickens, enjoyed the view, and the lovely food provided by Mary when we arrived, and the peace and quiet. Mary and Lili are wonderful hosts, very kind and friendly, but also mindful of guest privacy. We were lucky enough to have cuddles with Diesel and Molly the dogs! There’s excellent walking trails and parks around the area, and the evenings are stunning looking at the mountains and listening to the animals. The beds are super comfy and the shower is excellent. It was just what we needed to unwind and relax before heading home. We will definitely be back to Mary’s place next time we come to Cairns!

Wendy’s place in Palm Cove was absolutely perfect for our family of 5. If I could give her and the property 6 stars, we would. The home itself was very nice, wonderfully laid out, and it felt like every need had been thought through in what was available at the property. Wendy was extremely wonderful to communicate with and thoughtful. The home feels very private and a mere 2 or 3 blocks from the beach and main strip of Palm Cove. It is on the end near the grocery store and some very nice restaurants, which meant we just kept the car parked at home when meandering through Palm Cove. Great home and host!

We loved our stay The pool area was a great hit with the children. Very easy check in/check out process, and hosts were so accommodating and responsive with any questions we had. House was very clean and well presented. Would definitely stay here again

Our stay at Carla’s place was perfect for our short visit to the Cairns northern beaches area. The view from the apartment was breathtaking. Everything was comfortable and convenient. Carla was a friendly and helpful host.

Had a wonderful 3 nights at Sundream. Beautiful, clean and stylish home with peaceful, private surroundings and the location being not far from the town which gave us the opportunity to explore the area and Atherton Tablelands while not being far from Cairns. Roxanne & Jesse were fantastic hosts who made our stay even more wonderful.

Had a great 4 nights relaxing after travelling up the east coast and between 5 of us the price was a really good deal

Nice and comfortable.

Very central location and suited our needs perfectly. We loved the security of having a car park undercover & locked up. We also enjoyed the large balcony. Any problems were solved very quickly & Shirley was a delight to deal with. On arrival in a new town & with a hire car the instructions for finding the key wasn’t very clear. After driving around the block because we missed it, we stumbled upon it at the car park entrance. All other instructions were spot on & clear. Great place to stay.

The view from Kim’s place and being able to hear the waves were highlights for us. My favorite part of the day was watching the sun rise over the ocean from the balcony. It’s breathtaking! The apartment was spacious and comfortable for our family of four. We had everything that we needed. The location is perfect for walking to dinner, shops and the beach. Trinity Beach has a nice relaxed atmosphere. We would highly recommend Kim’s place!

What a wonderful stay!!! Leigh is a fabulous and welcoming host. We visited the area with our 3 kids. We were a little worried about 5 of us with a 1 bathroom house but the toilet is separated from the shower/sink which was great. We had no issues at all. The kitchen is stocked well so we were able to cook during our stay. We rented a car so the location was perfect for us. We were close enough to Cairns but far enough to enjoy the peace and quiet. The views from the house are stunning. There is a table on the front porch where my partner and daughter spent most of their mornings drinking coffee and reading. We didn’t have a chance to use the pool because we were so busy with activities but it looked very nice and relaxing. Can’t recommend Leigh’s AirBNB enough. We wished we could have stayed longer!!!

Would definitely stay here again…great pool…walking distance to restaurants & cafes via the back gate…lovely to walk along Trinity Beach.

Great location, beautiful house!

Wendy has the most beautiful home in the best location in Palm Cove! You won’t find another house that is set up this perfectly for families - it easily fit our group of four adults and five children (10, 8, 7, 5 and 2) and the multiple living spaces meant that the youngest could have undisturbed day sleeps while the older kids played in the pool/watched movies/ran around. The kitchen has everything you need, the house is an easy walk to the beach and the main street, the beds are super comfortable, and the air conditioning is phenomenal. We’ve stayed twice now - August 2024 and January 2025 - and we’re already planning our next trip back!
