Downstairs bedroom, bathroom, large panoramic terrace and garden. Upstairs at the topo floor a confortable sittingroom convertible into 3 beds depending on guest needs. Among the few concessions to modernity the pellet thermostove as heating.
“These 2 days in Martassina were perfect. Total change of scenery, extremely warm welcome, comfortable and cozy cottage (we were 5) with stunning views and beautiful views of the mountains and the river below. Cynzia and Paolo have been very good tips for mountain hikes, beautiful lakes of altitude, sumptuous landscapes. Goat cheeses are delicious, and produced on their farm, where we are welcome. Opportunity to go to the nearby village (Ala di Stura) on foot for shopping, there is everything you need. An unforgettable holiday for the whole family, a place where you want to come back so much you feel good. Beautiful apartment in a dominant and panoramic position excellently exposed with 3 arias on the top floor in a quiet and well served condominium. Cantoira offers year-round tourist opportunities for nature and sport lovers, including cross-country skiing, school and paragliding flights, swimming pool, and a few km of uncrowded and cheap ski resorts as well as various catering activities well established. Cantoira can be easily reached from Turin in less than an hour's drive.
“Our very first Italian visit, and what a surprise to have such a welcome from Mario and Ilena. The accommodation conforms to the photos and much more. Neat, clean, tastefully decorated, a gourmet breakfast, quality beauty products, this apartment is perfect and our stay was more than successful! Cantoira is a very nice village, we find everything you need to eat, to visit, to wander, to take a deep breath of fresh mountain air, and all that 40 km from Turin! I recommend +++ go there with your eyes closed. Thanks again to Mario and Ilena”
You will like my accommodation for the atmosphere, the quiet, the contact with nature. My accommodation is suitable for couples, lone adventurers and families (with children).
“Patrizia is a welcoming and responsive host. She does not speak English, but her daughter does. Also we could communicate directly using electronic translator. The house is very old (probably 100+ years), it consists of 2 refurbished rooms, one on the ground floor and another on the floor above. The latter is accessible either by an external staircase from the outside or a small spiral staircase inside the house. The house is heated by an oven which uses wooden pellets as fuel (bags of these are provided by the host for additional fee). It also has electric ventilators which blow the hot air through a pipe to the room above. It is surprisingly effective, though a bit noisy when utilized. The only major downside is that the room on the 2nd floor does not have a door, and you have to pass it each time you use the bathroom, which is also on the second floor. So privacy is an issue when 2+ people are staying. Overall we were satisfied with our stay. Note to climbers: a car is a must in this area. All major climbing areas are 20km up the valley and local public transport is extremely poor. There are 5 hour long gaps between buses and timetable is different every day of the week.”
