If you prefer to sleep in while on vacation, feel free to close all the wooden shutters to form a comfortable, dark cocoon in the bedroom and pretend like the rest of the world has stopped while you relax. When you are ready to get out and about, venture outside to explore the unique architecture of the Bywater and visit local dives and hangouts! This guest house is a creole-style cottage adjacent to a traditional shotgun (occupied by the host) on a shady corner lot in the Bywater Historic District. Originally built in the 1800s, renovated in 2007, and completely refreshed in 2017, guests will enjoy full, private access to this 600+ square foot, 1 bedroom, 1 bath cottage with a fully appointed kitchen. There is a queen bed in the bedroom plus a West Elm modular couch in the living room that comfortably sleeps one adult. Extra linens and pillows are provided. Flat-screen TV with DirecTV and DVD player. Washer/dryer in unit with supplies. Freshly-squeezed grapefruit and satsuma juice from trees in the courtyard, when in season (October - February)! Guests may feel welcome to sit in the courtyard, with a private patio just outside the living room door. We live on-site, and the door to our home is just across the courtyard from the living room or at the deck by your entry door. Should you need anything, we’re happy to be at your service. Otherwise, we'll leave you to the quiet enjoyment of the space and to enjoy your travels. The guest house is situated in the Bywater Historic District, a Creole neighborhood mostly known for its brightly colored architecture and creative community members. The neighborhood boasts easy access to dining and entertainment, and a number of hotspots are nearby including one of the city’s best brunches, a nano-brewery, and a wine bar with live courtyard jazz multiple times a day! The Crescent Park trail along the river is two blocks away and is a nice gateway to the French Quarter. The Crescent Park trail along the Mississippi Riverfront is two blocks from the house and offers easy bike/pedestrian/wheelchair access to the French Market (about 1.5 miles) along with the rest of the French Quarter beyond (Jackson Square is about 2 miles from the house). Multiple bus routes are within 2-4 blocks of the house, including Bus Route 5 two blocks away that takes you to the Quarter. The Rampart-St. Claude Streetcar Route is approximately 1.6 miles away at the intersection of St. Claude and Elysian Fields. Several local businesses offer scooter and bike rentals within a couple miles of the house, and a bike share station (Blue Bikes NOLA) is located around the corner. Uber/Lyft/rideshares are readily available, typically in 5 minutes or less at most times of day, and cost around $7-$12 to the French Quarter/CBD (or Central Business District as we in New Orleans call our downtown), depending upon traffic, time of day, exact dropoff location, etc. If you are driving your own vehicle, apps like "Spothero" will help you find and compare options for private or paid parking lots and spaces at your destination. On-street parking is typically pretty easy to find and no permit is required/no time restrictions exist. J&J's Sports Bar is across the street. While it can be great for watching a game close-by or for a night cap before you hit the sack, depending upon the day, it can also create conversation noise into the wee hours. Chic Guest Suite with Charming Courtyard

Take a breather in the fenced-in, alfresco courtyard attached to this newly renovated guest suite. Indoors, the layout features tiled floors, reclaimed wood counters and finishes, a walk-in shower, and lots of natural light. NOLA Permit #: 19STR-00954 I follow Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. This is a separate unit with own entrance from main house. Unit has black out curtains so you can sleep in late, USB chargers next to each side of the bed, great AC/heater and private courtyard. Neighborhood is walkable - two miles from the French Quarter and one mile from City Park. Across the street from the Fairgrounds Race Course (Jazz Fest), corner market, Catty Shack (best tacos in NOLA), Jockey’s Pub (great neighborhood bar), and Toast Fairgrounds (amazing breakfast spot). ½ mile walk or ride to Liuzza's by the track, Swirl wine shop, Fair grinds coffee shop, Café Degas, Lola, Santa Fe Restaurant (best margaritas in town), Terranova Market and Conseco’s Market. You will have access to your private courtyard and the entire suite. We will be available for most guest check-ins and welcome you to hang with us on our porch under the large oak tree with a cool beverage. There are so many wonderful places in this city and we enjoy making recommendations based on your interests. The suite is situated across the street from the Fairgrounds Race Course, where Jazz Fest is held, the corner market, and Catty Shack, which has the best tacos in NOLA. The neighborhood is close to the French Quarter and City Park. Free street parking. There are always spaces available except during Jazz Fest. During this time, you can park in our driveway. We also have Toast, one of the best breakfast places in the city. Jockey's Pub is also 1 block down and is a great neighborhood bar to watch games in. A neighborhood home that is extremely convenient and close to all of the fun and excitement, yet only 12 minutes from the hustle, bustle of the city! We are located in a quiet and safe suburb home with parking for many vehicles. The streetcar (trolly) is only 4 miles away which travels to the city of New Orleans; the city that never sleeps! My home is equipped with a coffee pot, coffee, creamer, sugar and other sweetners. I also offer coke,diet coke,sprite and bottle water. There's a microwave, crock pot and a refrigerator, as well as utensils, dishes and other essentials for your convenience. We are in walking distance to a convenience store, a daiquiri shop and the Chalmette National Battlefield. Within a half mile radius there is the famous Rocky & Carlo's restaurant, a hospital, grocery, Wal Mart, laundromat, post office, banks, casino, local hot spots, and a park just to name a few!

Cheerful and fresh single home/oak tree surround.

This is our family cottage home in a quiet residential neighborhood. It is newly renovated, and decorated. We occasionally open it to all responsible, respectful, adult guest who abide by the house rules. No outside guest allowed after check in. It is 6.7 miles/15 minute drive to New Orleans/ French Quarter. We live next door. Absolutely no parties/ Booking Person must be the guest/ no more than 3 guest ever. We may ask for ID. If unsure. before you will be given the key. Wifi and Netflix.
