Waterfront Residence

A wonderful place to stay by the river not too far from Riga. Very peaceful surroundings and it was very nice to have your morning coffee and enjoy the sun on the terrace. The house looked small from the outside but because the sleeping area is on the 2nd floor there was enough space for 2 people and the dog in the living room.

There is a nice restaurant around the corner, and the beach is an 8-10 minute walk from the apartment. The apartment is new and modern, which is rare in Jelgava. Downtown is a 20-25 minute walk on the other side of the river. From a location perspective, it must be noted that Jelgava was heavily demolished during World War II, and only a few but significant buildings survived. As a result, downtown has a distinct Soviet-era architectural look, similar to other neighborhoods in the city. Thus, in my opinion, staying downtown would not be much better. During the walk to downtown Jelgava Palace can be seen, an impressive piece of Russian Baroque architecture (rarity). To sum up, I think its one of the best options at the moment where to stay overnight in Jelgava.
