Smoking-friendly holiday rentals in Cayo District

Allie was a wonderful host. Her property was beautiful. She put my girlfriend and I in her cabin by the river. I’ve stayed in many Airbnb’s, but this was one of the better experiences I’ve had. Truly just a beautiful spot to spend the night.

Loany’s place is close to the centre of town, but up a high hill, so it has a fabulous view and feels like it’s in the country. Lovely breeze the 3 days we were there. The location was really special. The front patio is great and makes up for the limited space in the kitchen. The bedrooms were air conditioned which was nice. The cooking area and stove are small and the oven was a bit slow to heat and no baking pan so not good for cooking big meals but everything worked fine and there were lots of plates/glasses/utensils. The whole town comes alive with roosters and barking dogs at times (sometimes at night too) so I’d recommend turning on a white noise video on your phone before going to bed. It’s an interesting quirk of the town and is not specific to this house. Loany herself was super responsive and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic location if you need a place to totally relax. The platform down at the river is a great spot for a morning coffee. Use of paddle boards is a great way to explore the river. If you don’t have a car go prepared with the food you need Cristo Rey is a small town with local produce when available

Luis is an excellent host, and the communication is great. Whenever I had a question or needed assistance, he was happy to help. Luis' place is ideal for a couple or a single person, both for shorter and longer stays. The property is located in a quiet area, but supermarkets and other stores are just a short walk away. Getting to Downtown San Ignacio only takes a 10-minute walk. Wifi and AC are working excellently, and the place has everything you need. I have felt very comfortable and safe here. I highly recommend staying with Luis.

My wife, myself and our 14yo grandson stayed for 4 days. The place was incredible. A jungle experience everyone should try, from the guided cave tour by Alex to the bridge and then the stairs up the jungle mountain. The little cafe had awesome burritos and quesadillas. The trip in and the 2 river crossings was an adventure in its own right after all the rain that we had had, but we made it(in a AWD car) On our last day we were surprised by a special guest by a favorite of mine. “We’re not gonna take it” is my clue. Thank you Mike & sons, Alex and everyone else!

Marcela is a lovely, flexible, and communicative host. She and her pups will welcome you with open arms. The trip from the main road is short but a little rough. Nothing unusual for Belize, but we were happy to be driving something with a little clearance.

my wife and I love the area, the food was good. staff is amazing. we didn't get to stay to long so we never got all they have to offer, but we were very pleased with our one night in this amazing jungle setting.
