Gioviano is a small quiet medieval village 25 kms from the walled city of Lucca in the Garfagnana. The house is peacful and in the heart of this beautiful Tuscan village, if you want to explore the region this is a perfect retreat for a weekend or longer. We are 50 minutes from Pisa airport on the SS12 route. The location is perfect for summer or winter. In summer you can reach the sea, in winter ski in the hills. All year round you can explore the region by foot, bicycle, motorcycle or car.

The Cottage is part of a property owned by the Bernocchi family, which was already on maps of the area in the 1500s and is located right on an ancient Roman road that crossed the Calvana Mountains. About 9 km from Prato and 20 km from Florence. The Cottage, open on three sides, is situated in a panoramic position surrounded by a private park, ideal for walking and sports. Molinello is an ancient windmill surrounded by nature, ideal for those who love silence. It was entirely renovated to make it welcoming and functional, but preserving the original features that make it a special place. Next to the building flows the river that once operated the mills, which creates small waterfalls and tanks of clear and fresh water. It is less than 2 km from the Via degli Dei, and 25 minutes from the Rioveggio toll booth (the last km is on dirt road).

The house is connected to the main road, via a road of about 700 meters semi-asphalted and is located about 2 km from the center of the village of Monghidoro, halfway between Bologna and Florence.

Independent apartment in villa

1 km from the Rioveggio highway exit, the apartment is located inside the villa where I live with my family. Guest access is independent, from the large terrace, without stairs. You can park your car in the shared square, where there are 2 harmless dogs. Rooms and bathroom are for the exclusive use of guests. There is no full kitchen, but you will have a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker (coffee included), kettle and necessary dishes.

Bologna is 30' by car, 50' by bus and the Villaggio della Salute Più thermal baths are only 15' away. Breakfast is included in the price and all the products we use are organic.
