We had a great holiday in Borgo Papardo. We enjoyed the view of Etna which gave us two beautiful eruptions, the smell of lemon trees in bloom and the children spent a lot of time at the pool despite its freshness. Placido is very available for any info.

Adas apartment on the upper floor of an old villa has a lot of atmosphere, with beautiful old furniture, ceiling paintings, a huge garden with orange and avocado groves and a wrap-around balcony with a magnificent view of the sea and on the left hand to Taormina. We felt extremely comfortable and enjoyed the time very much. San Leonardo is very conveniently located for many beautiful excursions, to Taormina, to Catania, or to Mount Etna. Ada has many more good tips for nearby destinations.

We had a wonderful, relaxing time with plenty to do in and around the villa. Catania is a short drive or train journey from Giarre-Riposto in one direction and Taormina in the other; so for us the villa was perfectly situated in the hills between Etna and the ocean. We enjoyed Oranges, Lemons and Quince from the mature garden and spent our days exploring the locality including the beautiful Gorge near Francavilla di Sicilia, the hilltop villages made famous by the Godfather movies and the stunning coastal vistas afforded from the ocean on a yacht trip from Catania harbour. In the evenings we enjoyed the views from the garden and either eat out or made the most of the local produce by cooking for ourselves in the well appointed kitchen. Given the location you do need a car and there is a local hotel that specialises in weddings so some music wafts over from that but this didn’t go on late and we didn’t find it disturbing.

We had a fantastic time at Domenico's house. We were very hospitably received with an extensive tour in and around the house. The garden is amazing, full of tropical trees, nuts, citrus fruits, you name it. We were allowed to stroll freely through it, fresh fruit for breakfast every day 😊 The house has all the comforts and the first amenities are around the corner. Pick up a sandwich within walking distance, good food from the neighbors (Pizzaria is next door), supermarket nearby. A fantastic place to explore beautiful towns and the area from there and visit Mount Etna. A big 10!
