Your data is only shared with the Police and the Municipality. There aren't many elevators in Venice: you'll have to climb around 50 steps, but they aren't very steep. The accomodation is strategically located: Padua can be easily reached by bus, train, bike or car in less then 15 minutes and Venice is less than half an hour away by train, with the train station 800 meters away.
