Le Moulin de la Forge: loft between woods and river

In the heart of the Périgord Limousin Regional Natural Park, 30 minutes from Limoges: at the exit of the village, past the stone bridge, the alley of old trees welcomes you in a bath of greenery. The wooded land on 6 ha is nestled in a meander of the small river, the Gorre. The mill is located along the head race; a bamboo grove softens the northern flank while to the south, the terrace of the cottage overlooks the edge of the woods. The facade mirrors the old dwelling house and the ruined barn.

It is an outbuilding of one of the most beautiful estates in Périgord, La Chartreuse du Maine. As in the early 18th century, here everything breathes peace, harmony and beauty. It is the perfect place to recharge and radiate as you discover the beautiful Dordogne-Périgord region.

We have combined 2 houses - Farm House and The Old Stables - to enable you to use all of the facilities as one group. Both houses are fully equipped as per separate listings. There is a stunning pool with a large luxurious spa. All of the rooms are spacious and well equipped and could also accommodate extra children/infants. Pizza evenings with our own new bread oven and create your own pizza, by arrangement after booking.

At Mondy, Private Pool Varaignes

You’ll love Chez Mondy the perfect place to relax and unwind, with breath-taking views. Conservatory Kitchen. 2 bedrooms, all rooms are independently accessed via the veranda. Suitable for couples, business travellers, families, (families with small children are advised to share family bedroom) Private Pool. The Pool opens early June to late September weather dependent. Varaignes has a chateau, Resraurant, boulangerie.

La Maison Benaise, our bicentennial farm, welcomes guests who are mainly looking for tranquility and nature (Natura 2000 site). Guests can enjoy beautiful walks in the hilly Charente landscape. Sports enthusiasts can practice mountain biking, canoeing, swimming in the river or lakes around us or simply relax with a book and a drink on the sunny terrace. For children, our four Shetland ponies are ready for a little hug.
