Stonehaven - large country retreat, with pool*

We struggled to find a place for our group of 17 and Stonehaven was an amazing find! The beds were comfortable, we loved being able to have meals all together in one spot, and there was lots of space for people to do different activities inside since it was winter. Outside, we enjoyed tobogganing, snowshoeing and cross country skiing on the property. Steve was quick to communicate and provided clear instructions and maps. We were already talking about going back so we can enjoy the property in the summer! Thank you for a memorable and fun weekend!

The Butchart Estate: your perfect family retreat!

My only concern is that there was one huge spider web in kitchen, and some smaller ones in upper corners of some doorways. The downstairs bathroom floor had hair and baseboards could be cleaned. The Violet room bathtub needed to be cleaned before use. Underneath the radiators was dust accumulation which I wouldn’t expect at this price point. Pool and hot tub were lovely and with bringing our own portable ramp we were able to make home accessible for our needs. Beautiful dishes, lots of variety of china, linen napkins, pantry contents. We didn’t find a keurig but they had a fancy coffe machines but no instructions on how use. We were not familiar with use lol. We enjoyed the history of the building, architecture and beautiful art work. Lots of space to find quiet times and not have to be with everyone all the time. Kitchen facilities were excellent. Recycling was fabulous and set up idiot proof. Shower in white & dark blue bedroom had no temp markings & were opposite to tub

What a beautiful home in a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood. The windows let in wonderful natural light, you can also see bits of the Georgian bay through the windows. We woke up to a quiet neighbourhood with birds chirping. The place is well stocked with everything you need! We especially loved the hot tub, which was ready to use with clear instructions. Karen is exceptionally responsive and communicative. This place had everything you need and more! It’s a short drive to the downtown with wonderful restaurants. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The place is exactly what we are looking for. Very cozy and quiet, nice hikes and most of all, the amazing animals. The girls spent hours hanging out with the horses and the pigs. Our time here was very memorable. There are amazing hikes nearby, small towns like Markdale and Flasherton and both have small restaurants, shops and cafes. John and Andrea are simply great! They are extremely kind and generous with their time. Excellent advice all the time, great conversations and will offer anything to make our stay more enjoyable. John let us help with the daily shores and feeding the animals. He also gave us excellent ideas for hikes, local attractions, etc. We are really looking forward to going there again next spring or summer.

Our stay at Catharine and Mike’s house was a great time. The house was very spacious and had all the necessary appliances, linens, towels etc that anyone staying there could need. We felt very at home and enjoyed the pool, which was also extremely clean. Hosts were very accommodating and quick to respond to any request we had. We look forward to staying here again. Thank you!

Our families had a great stay here - my sister and I rent a place every summer. Our families loved their time on the best lake, and enjoyed both the pool and hot tub. We made all our meals here in the full kitchen and sat a tables with a lake view. The sunsets and beach fires were memorable. The place was large and comfortable. Highly recommend staying with Katherine and Peter, they were highly responsive and have a great property.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this cottage! Thomas is incredibly friendly and responsive, always ready to assist with anything we needed. He went above and beyond by keeping the house warm before our arrival and even left us some snacks—such thoughtful touches really made a difference. The cottage itself is amazing, fully equipped with all the amenities you could need. It's clear that a lot of care has gone into making it a cozy and enjoyable place. We felt like we were treated like family throughout our stay, which made the experience even more special. The location is perfect, surrounded by plenty of attractions, and the cottage has so much to offer in terms of fun and entertainment—it’s truly a great place to unwind and explore. Great communication with Tracey. Very good welcome from Tracey and Dan when we arrived and they made sure everything was going well during our stay. The swimming pool (huge) and spa are a big plus to rent. And in addition the backyard is well fenced for dogs. So my golden was happy to let off steam in the wild. The listing is true to previous photos and reviews! The accommodation is conveniently located close to Sauble beach and Huron Lake in Oliphant. It's easy to visit from this location. The environment is quiet and restful and the neighborhood welcoming.

Fantastic Place! Our hosts Angela and Ed were very responsive and met us there on check in. Gave us a tour of the property and let us know things to do in the area. Our little ones thoroughly enjoyed the pool, games and puzzles. The house has plenty of space and having a private bathroom in each bedroom was a blessing. The house was very clean and had a guide to help with everything. Very private and peaceful, a good place to unwind from the hectic work schedules. Once again great place and great hosts. Would highly recommend.
