TARANTULA RANCH VACATION RENTALS AND TOURS (small)

FelipeRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
I have to say if you want a tranquil peaceful getaway with a magnificent view and a friendly visitor who comes and says hi every once in a while (Maggie the burro) then this is your place. We stayed in the small cabin and it was just perfect for us. Did get to see the bigger cabin and it looked clean and big enough for up to 6 ppl. Our host Curt and his son were great and very welcoming. They offered to take us to a gun range they own and even offered to take us on a tour. Only about 1 hour away from the main entrance to Big Bend National Park but there are trails around the cabins that you can walk and get some spectacular views, not to mention the night skies with amazing view of the stars. The cabin itself was small but very cozy, it does have to be dusted and swept, but what do you expect you’re at the top of a small mountain. It has great AC, Wi-Fi and shower. Well worth the price, very cozy and clean, will be back with our boys soon. Thank you Curt for your hospitality

TARANTULA RANCH VACATION RENTALS AND TOURS

JessicaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Curt’s place by far has the best views in Terlingua. The cabin is perfectly nestled in the heart of the stunning mountains, giving you peace, privacy, and unforgettable scenery. The hot tub views are absolutely incredible—especially at sunset. It’s truly a slice of desert paradise. Maggie, the resident donkey, was an added bonus. She’s sweet, loyal, and a great protector—but be warned, she can be a little mischievous! Don’t leave anything out, or Maggie will help herself. Still, she quickly steals your heart, and you’ll miss seeing her at your window each morning. Curt and his son Kevin gave us true white glove service—from booking through departure. Curt’s directions are incredibly detailed (yes, they’re long—but for good reason). The signal out here is basically nonexistent, and if I hadn’t taken good notes, I can’t imagine how we would’ve made it. So pay attention—it’s worth it!

We had a great time at Linda’s place with our two kids. Her house is a lovely little museum where you feel cosy and at home. Very nice backyard where you can enjoy the sun and the peaceful neighborhood.

Luxury Farmhouse Retreat

MatthewRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Perfect Airbnb vacation experience. Beautiful and spacious (guessing approx 2200 sq feet) home in the heart of downtown Alpine, TX. Great for walking around town, or as a base for daytrips to surrounding Ft Davis, Marfa, and Balmorhea. Linda was a wonderful host and responsive when we reached out to her. Fantastic guest manual with everything you'd ever need to know about the house. Our family has been coming to West Texas for many years and stayed in many Airbnbs--this is now our favorite and we plan to come back again soon. Highly, highly recommended! Thank you, Linda!

Casita Blanca - Centrally Located 3 Bedroom Home

BeckyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Casita Blanca was <5 min drive to the park entrance. During the booking process, the group was quick to respond to questions and provided a great guidebook for the area. Upon arrival to the house, the driving instructions were clear and we were easily able to access the property. The house backs up to some hills/mountains making it extremely peaceful and quiet. The property was well maintained and had more than what we needed to be comfortable during our visit. AC was great, plenty of extra blankets, pillows, towels, washcloths, toilet paper, well stocked kitchen with a variety of spices. Conveniently located across the street from the grocery store. The grocery store tended to stay lit up at night, which would be my only complaint. There was considerable light pollution coming from their lights, but you're still able to see the stars really well. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Casita Blanca!

Casa La Vista ~ A Simple Getaway

JeffRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The house was clean with nice furniture, comfortable beds, quality linens/towels, and lots of natural light. The area is awesome with wide-open, beautiful desert views and faces west for nice sunsets. Loved having the washer/dryer. The town (Marathon) is very small but there is a really nice restaurant within one mile of the house. There also seemed to be an art gallery or two, and a day spa. Wilma was a great host, communicated well, and was very quick in responding to any emails. If available, I will definitely rent this house again the next time I am in the area.

Living Rock Campsite #1

Fabulous views, lovely toilets and shower and close to the National and State parks just above the Terilingua Ghost town. A Great option for camping. Marc was a great help sorting out which of his spots was best for our mix of a car and 2 solo tents.

35 minutes to the entrance of Big Bend National Park. A campsite has a picnic table and a few others have shades. Private and you can feel you are free from busy city. I could use Verizon and you can use mobile phone if needed. Sunset was not good and you may want to go to other places with good view.

Stone Cottage @ La Loma del Chivo (The Goat Hill)

RaeganRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We loved staying here! Ingrid was very pleasant and friendly. We loved the greeting to “the middle of nowhere!” And that’s exactly what we got. It was peaceful and all the buildings were so unique. Truly an artist’s/creative person’s paradise. We felt safe and cozy even through there was such a crazy dust storm that hit during our stay. There were sweet neighboring dogs and were so good with our little dachshund. We enjoyed sitting up on the platform and walking around the little area. 10/10 would stay here and recommend it to others looking for an unforgettable experience!

Off Grid Earth Bag Home

GabrielleRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The Earthbag home was absolutely incredible! Jamie did a phenomenal job creating this off-grid paradise. It was so well laid out, with walking paths, plenty of outdoor areas to hang out & star gaze. The views here were incredible from sunrise to sunset the views were breathtaking. I even enjoyed the private view from the outdoor shower! Jamie was extremely communicative & detailed with instructions which made it easy to navigate. We would absolutely stay here again!
