The house was perfect for us. Very clean and organized. Great host always responded in a timely manner. Was only about a 30 to 40 minute drive to Acadia National Park & Bar harbor, depending on traffic it could take longer. If we ever make it back to Maine I would definitely stay at the Higgins Retreat again. Thanks again Richard & Tina.

this was the 3rd time our family has stayed,again we had a fantastic time! We chose to return due to the great space, a fabulous indoor pool, great kitchen and an amazing view. Great attention to details, comfortable for large families or groups and peaceful for just 2.

We felt like at home. The house is located in a private property with swimming pool and tennis courts. It’s very clean and very peaceful. Just a clarification about the description : there’s no bathroom in the basement. Then if you come with elderly people or very young kids, it could be annoying. If you like cooking, the kitchen is very well equipped. We´ll keep a very good memory of our stay in Ducktrap Retreat during the colorful foliage season.

Booked this place for our anniversary to get away from the city for a weekend.. we found exactly what we were looking for! The hot tub was wonderful, the house was clean and cute, and we had everything we could have needed! Estelle was very responsive and gave clear instructions for everything. Would recommend this place for a quiet getaway or a small group trip in the summer!

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

I recently stayed with my family at this incredible Airbnb that exceeded all my expectations. This property offered a hot tub, a pool table, and a level of privacy and tranquility that made for a truly relaxing getaway. One of the highlights of our stay was being able to watch the northern lights from the hot tub – it was absolutely magical. We spent a week in Acadia, and the location was perfect, just 15-20 minutes from Bar Harbor or the nearest town. The hosts were very responsive, and the place was fantastic for families, being both kid and pet friendly. It was a week filled with unforgettable moments, and I can't recommend this place enough!

This place was perfect for my family stay. the property and home had everything you could ever need for a comfortable stay. you could tell our host Olivia took pride in creating a warm and comfy atmosphere. My only problem was not being able to stay longer and enjoy it more. would have loved to have fired up the grill and sat by the fire pit in the back yard. my family absolutely loved everything. Stayed here a few days while exploring New England. It’s a little bit out of the way for Bar Harbor etc. but we had cars so not a big deal. This place would be perfect in the summer with a family and kids. The single living room heater struggled to heat the whole place once temps dropped to the 50s. The place is nicely decorated and we enjoyed our evenings there.

Property was exactly as described. Everything was very clean and comfortable, perfect for 3 adults. Very close to campus, and restaurant recommendations were spot on. Fenced in back yard was perfect for our dog. Thank you!!

Our stay here was so much fun! Swimming, fishing, kayaking, there was so much to do and the water was awesome! It was the perfect place to stay to have your peaceful vacation being in a great neighborhood but it was still located close enough to places where you could go if you’re looking to get great food, or go into a nice town with other things to do. Ryan was such a great host he had so many great recommendations on what to do, and where to go nearby for everything! He really cared about your stay here and it showed, he went out of his way to make sure you felt comfortable and had fun during your vacation! He was so responsive and was there if you needed anything. We would recommend this place to stay to anybody, and would love to come back. It’s the perfect place to bring your kids and your dog and they provide so much to make sure you have fun while staying here!

Majestic Point was the perfect accommodations for our stay. We were visiting Maine from PA for a graduation. Pushaw Lake was absolutely beautiful. The house was right on the water. My daughter and her friend were able to use the kayaks, cool off in the lake, and hang out on the dock. They also made use of the air hockey & foosball table. The lake house was very peaceful and private, so relaxing. We look forward to staying at Majestic Point again in the future.

What a beautiful hidden gem this lake house is! Nestled into the Maine forest on the edge of the peaceful lake, it was a perfect spot for a relaxed reunion for two families. As we have small children, I appreciated that the water isn't too close to the house but still accessible via stairs. Travis and Laura were excellent hosts and had the house stocked with everything we could need for a wonderful stay!

This house was amazing—hosts really have thought of everything when it comes to guest experience! Kayaking out to the tiny islands in the bay a couple times allowed us to see horseshoe crabs and bald eagles up close. The fire pit was great and the “s’mores station” with supplies in the kitchen upon arrival was so cute and thoughtful. Our three kids loved this place and didn’t want to leave at the end of the week. Our boys especially loved the lower level game room with ping-pong, arcade games, and pop-a-shot. The kids also loved reading on the sofa in the upstairs loft overlooking the kitchen. The kitchen is well stocked and we cooked dinner there a couple times during the week. The hosts gave great local recommendations as well—the craft beer at Fogtown Brewing in Ellsworth (less than 15-min. drive) is excellent, and it is very kid-friendly with a large outdoor eating area and wood-fired pizza. We’d love to return to this house! Mosquitoes are fierce so bring bug repellent.

We really enjoyed our stay at Matthew’s place!! The view was incredible!! It was very peaceful and quiet. The upstairs did get a little warm but using the box fans and opening the windows in the evening helped. We loved the first floor living area, it was so comfortable, and did I mention the views?!!!

Stayed here on our family trip to Acadia NP. Place was hidden gem in a quiet neighborhood right off US1. Clean and everything was fully functional. Very well maintained and clear instructions. Christian was very polite and helpful along the way.

Mark was a great host! He offered to let us check in early, as our flight came in before check in time. The house was quiet and peaceful, perfect vacation house! Our kids loved the easy access to the lake, and the house provided numerous outdoor knick knacks for them to play with. We also enjoyed the relaxing mornings on the hammock. The house is close enough to all necessity’s, but still away enough to not feel crowded with people. We would recommend the place to anyone, and will be returning in the future! Thank you for a great week at the lake!

We can't say enough great things about this place! Camp Nacho exceeded our expectations exponentially. The views are beautiful. The neighborhood is extremely quiet and peaceful. The cabin had everything we needed and more. Amon was easy to communicate with and so friendly. We enjoyed the kayaks and the fire pit! We stayed with our 6 kiddos and they had a blast. So many amazing memories were made during out stay!

Very last minute booking and Taylor was accomadating. Had a small hiccup upon arrival and unable to get in. House is very comfortable and as described. There is a Keurig, along with other kitchen items. Friendly neighborhood, school and park in walking distance. Close to restaurants, grocery and many ammenities. Easy to find & dog friendly. I am a light sleeper, traffic and neighborhood noise is noticable very early mornings. Ceiling in shower is slanted, if you're tall it could be an issue.

Christina’s home is so clean, beautiful, and in a quiet beautiful neighborhood. The whole property was 10/10 for my whole family. Christina’s communication was amazing as she was answering our questions right away. The rooms are amazing, we were able to rest quietly. The place is great for kids, as they have their own place for themselves too. The whole experience was definitely for our family 10/10.

Such a peaceful and charming getaway! Loved the private backyard space and all of the cute design details. Plenty of fans to keep us cool and lots of supplies/activities. The little radio speaker was great and loved that there were some guidebooks to read and games to play. The first aid kit was fully stocked too which was so handy. SO glad that we had this spot to come back to after long days in bar harbor, nice to be away from the touristy area and to have such a cozy space to unwind. The neighboring town of Ellsworth was super cute and definitely worth a visit if you stay here. Would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to visit the area.

I had a lovely visit with a good friend. The air bnb stood out to us because of how beautiful the photos were and they didn’t do the place justice. It was so nice to stay in a place that felt like it was cut from a magazine. The home is in a private space but not far from restaurants and other towns with cute shops. We were close to lots of hiking trails and coastlines. I am quite sure I’ll be back!
