Villa Margaridi - Rosinha's Lodge

Five minutes from the city center, just above the Guimarães Castle, the Casa de Margaride has been standing since the 10th century. This property belonged to Countess Mumadona Dias and is referred to in medieval documentation as "Villa Margaridi" in a letter dating back to the year 1021. Rosinha's Lodge is a beautiful duplex apartment created in the old agricultural outbuildings of Casa de Margaride. Casa de Margaride and its Garden are classified by the Portuguese State as Heritage of Public Interest.
