Greta Cottage, Gerringong

Great place to stay. Caters for all weather. The pool was used on the warm days and the fire pit and games shed on the colder autumn days. Big spacious rooms, bathrooms and living area. The alfresco entertaining area was perfect for afternoon drinks. Location was central to town centre. Would definitely return. Thank you

Kiama Aspect on Jones Beach

WendyRating, 5 stars2 months ago
The grandkids were not only allowed but welcomed in that there were toys and beach stuff there for them. We didn't need to take the portable cot as one was provided which was better and bigger than the portable one so made more room in the car. The house was very comfortable, clean and had everything that we needed. The location was perfect. Directly opposite a playground and the beach both of which we spent loads of time at. Found our new favourite picnic spot nearby, but the location will just have to be our secret. It was a very relaxing special place to be with our son and his family. Fluer also allowed our other son and his partner to visit.

Michael's house is in a great location opposite Sandon Point, good for walking and beaching. Great views out to the ocean. The house is a delight to stay in, large, very well equipped and comfortable. We look forward to the next time we can stay in Bulli.

The property exceeds expectations and is perfect for a weekend getaway. The home has every little amenity you need to feel at home, from the freshly baked cupcakes in the fridge, craft beer or bath salts for ‘that’ bathtub. It is such an incredibly built and presented home that will have us back again!

The Coastal Farmhouse

AlliRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had a wonderful 2.5 week stay at Alysha’s house. It was exactly as described. Beautiful comfortable beds big comfortable couch, and beautiful quiet surroundings. Big kitchen with everything you could need, which quality cookware and knives (a rare find!!) huge house which would be suitable for large families and plenty of space to run around outside. We sadly only stayed for work but this would be a great holiday spot - close to everything but far enough away to feel like you have your own private paradise. Thank you for having us

Our stay at Kangaroo Valley was amazing, the location was incredible, the view was beautiful. There was plenty of room for all of us, it was great to be able to take our dogs. The pool was truly a bonus, as the weather was perfect.

Your guide to Bowral

All About Bowral

Bowral is a picturesque town nestled at the foot of Mount Gibraltar in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, around 90 minutes southwest of Sydney. At the end of the 19th century, Bowral became a fashionable summer retreat for wealthy Sydneysiders, and the town is still home to many grand old estates and stunning gardens, including the popular Corbett Gardens, the centre of Bowral’s largest annual event — Tulip Time — and the famous Milton Gardens, considered to be one of the best gardens in Australia.

The town centre of Bowral is full of character and unique independent stores. People head out of the state capital to browse the antique shops and arts and crafts studios and make their way around regular weekend markets. Bowral is also known for having some of Australia’s best winemakers and food producers on its doorstep. The Southern Highlands region is a convenient jumping-off point for award-winning regional wineries, as well farm shops selling locally made honey, cheese, and fresh fruit and vegetables.

The best time to stay in a holiday rental in Bowral

The most popular time to book Bowral holiday rentals is during autumn and spring, when the days are filled with sunshine and the nights are mild. In autumn, Bowral’s trees come alive with changing foliage, from bright reds to burnt orange hues. In spring, Bowral blooms with thousands of vibrant springtime tulips, and between September and October every year, the town is host to Tulip Time — one of Australia’s leading floral festivals and the largest annual attraction in the Southern Highlands region. Summer in Bowral is all about long hot days, and, in December, cyclists come from far and wide to take part in an award-winning cycling race — with six rides to suit all abilities, taking in the beautiful scenery of the local area.

Top things to do in Bowral

Mount Jellore Lookout

Take the short drive up to Mount Jellore Lookout in the Mount Gibraltar Reserve for spectacular views out to Australia’s most famous mountain ranges. The view of the Blue Mountains is what this lookout is best known for, and there are also great vistas of the beautiful Nattai and Kanangra wilderness areas, as well as surrounding farmlands and the Main Southern Railway. You can explore self-guided walking tracks here, with wildlife to spot along the way.

Milton Park

Just east of Bowral lies the famous garden at Milton Park with around 10,000 trees, rare varieties of shrubs and plants, a forest of 5,000 cypresses and pines, giant elms, and hundreds of thousands of kaleidoscopic flowers. You can refuel in the on-site restaurant and bar and take five with a treatment at the spa.

Cherry Tree Walk

Cherry Tree Walk is located less than 15 minutes from Corbett Gardens. This memorial was created to honour all the Australian soldiers who lost their lives in the Vietnam War. The walk runs alongside the Mittagong Rivulet and consists of 526 cherry trees that were planted to represent each fallen soldier. In spring, the cherry trees burst into full bloom.
