Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Bohinjska Bistrica

We loved our stay! The property at the end of Lake Bohinj is lovely, with a beautiful creek flowing behind it and is close to the lake and many hiking trails. The property is big and very well kept. My family had fun playing games on the large grassy area with a volleyball net. The cabin is new, clean and cozy with nice bedding and well stocked kitchen and linens. We made 3 dinners and found everything we needed for food prep. If you're going to cook, you may want to pick up groceries before arriving in the area as the local markets have somewhat limited options. Amenities in the cabin were perfect! We watched movies, took saunas and lit fires in the fireplace - wood and kindling provided in cabin. Washer/dryer worked great and it was nice to do some laundry before moving on to our next destination. Jaka is very responsive. He communicates well and proactively using the AirBnB app.

We had a fantastic stay in Podbrdo. Marija and her family were very friendly and welcoming and made us feel right at home. The Airbnb really is a home away from home. It is very spacious and well equipped. It is quiet and a good place to relax and recharge while surrounded by nature.

Alenka was one of the nicest hostesses we have ever had. She went to great lenghts to make us feel comfortable. It felt like a miracle when she had the broken dishwasher relaced within hours. The village is very nice and not touristy and we loved the hikes for every degree of difficulty from the doorstep. Great Place to stay and very much recommended, also because of the greatly equipped kitchen (Even a tramezzino maker)!

Wow wow wow! What an incredible stay with incredibly helpful, kind, friendly hosts. This was such a lovely “destination” stay, a way to experience rural Slovenian living and culture. It’s a bit of a drive from the city, but well worth it for the stay and experience. Thank you and hvala!

Roman and Milena were very gracious and frendly hosts. They had special treats when we arrived and were very informative about the local hikes and restaurants. The location is just magical. So peaceful and beautiful! The cottage is well equipped and spotless! There are even slippers available for guest use! Very thoughtful. We hope to come back sometime for a longer stay. Our family of five had a wonderful stay here. Robert's communication before arrival was quick and he was there to show us around the apartment at check-in. The apartment itself was neat and very clean. My kids enjoyed the fact that the whole family could sleep together in one room. I enjoyed the fact that even though this is a smaller sized apartment, everyone had an actual bed! Robert was very kind and gave helpful tips. He even called a friend in the know when we asked about the closure over the mountain pass to give us the most accurate information. Great two night stay for our family here. Thanks, Robert!

Metka has been a wonderful and kind host in greeting us, making recommendations on places to go and great walks around, anticipating our demands. She has always been responsive in our communications, before and during our stay. The house is very well equipped because it has been lived in by generations, with a soul. Super clean. The location is perfect if one looks for quietness, close enough to the beauties of the lakes but without the crowds and the traffic. It is in a living village with active farming around but no shops or cafés within walking distance. The views on the mountains are stunning (get up early to catch the sunrise !). We can see the road but it is ok. Having a car is a must but 3 bicycles in very good condition are available. We were 4 adults and the house felt very comfortable and at ease. It only has one shower room downstairs (but 1 toilet on each floor) but we managed. My wife enjoyed the piano too ! Lovely time, fond memories. Viva Slovenia !

We had an amazing time in Ljubljana. Thank you very much for your hospitality. The location is great. You can enjoy house + garden and have breakfast outside, while being in walking distance to city centre.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Erika's beautiful apartment. It is situated in a very walkable location, close to everything you could possibly need. The apartment itself is wonderfully appointed and is a lovely retreat to return too, at the end of each day. If we ever return to Lake Bled we would definitely love to stay again. what a peaceful retreat in Slovenia! Very close to Bled and Bohinj. We felt like locals. The house was great. The kids enjoyed playing with the dogs and alpacas. Highly recommend.

My son and I had a great time at Jana's place. Very nice apartment, well-equipped, very clean, well-appointed and decorated. Wonderful mountain views from the terrace. The apartment is located a 15 min walk from Lake Bled. Peaceful and surrounded by nature. There are beehives next to the house and we have the opportunity to buy real and delicious honey. Jana is a very kind and discreet host. Thanks for all the tips. We had a hard time leaving this wonderful place.

This was our second time staying with Urška — two years ago we stayed at another one of her accommodations, and once again, we were not disappointed. The place is not too large, but it was very comfortable for our family of four. Everything is in its place, very cozy and full of charm. We usually don’t like sleeping on sofa beds, but this one is truly spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped — we found everything we needed. The bathroom feels like it belongs in a 5-star luxury hotel. The surrounding area is, of course, stunning — the Sava Bohinjka river flows just 10 meters from the house. It’s a great base for exploring Bled, the Bohinj area, and discovering Triglav. Urška is kind and helpful, the accommodation is excellent — I can only say good things. We had some truly memorable days here again. Thank you, Urška!

We had a great 5 night stay at this excellent Airbnb. We loved the area, so beautiful, and lots to see and do. But mainly we loved the apartment, garden and lovely host Leonida! Things we enjoyed were - 1. Walk all the way around Lake Bled, very easy but pleasant amble, with an optional climb to Ojstrica - viewpoint - which was well worth the 20 min climb. 2. Park at Ukanc end of Lake Bohinj, walk down north side for a while and back - very peaceful beautiful environment. 3. Savica waterfall, near Lake Bohinj. 4. Mostnica Gorge - really beautiful walk up the gorge, so many photo opps and a lovely waterfall at the top. Highly recommend. 5. Walk up to Pec viewpoint over lake, from Stara Fuzina. 6. Walk from the house to the pretty waterfall half an hour up valley. 7.. Chill in the garden, take a book and a bottle of wine, and enjoy Tiha the dog and Leonida's company in the sunshine :) (Sadly we didn't meet Albert as he was away) All in all, we highly recommend 5*

Lovely accommodation in a nice location with amazing outdoor sitting area looking at the emerald river. Very friendly hosts with good advice on places to see. Private parking. Good location to explore the Soca valley. Nice restaurant nearby, walkable or by car. Host let us use their canoe which was great on this impounded river so very calm waters. A beautiful stay and we want yo return.

We stayed in the studio for a few days and it was really great! We were very nicely received with tips about the area. There was plenty of space to sit outside in 3 different places and there were also bicycles that we were allowed to use. The studio was neat and clean. If there was something, we could walk to Jaka and everything was neatly explained or fixed! This studio is definitely recommended!

Thank you for having us Katja. We enjoyed the beautiful balcony, and the self sufficiency of the place as well as parking availability. Everything was clean and there was some beautiful hikes, with Lake Bohinj within good walking distance as well. Such a beautiful town.

Great place to stay when visiting Ljubljana. Maja was helpful and always responded to questions in a short amount of time. It is 7 mins walk to the city center and like 3 mins to the bus station. Close a lot of restaurants and main places.

Jaka and Taja made my stay in Ljubljana wonderful- the apartment was just lovely and had a beautiful ambience to it. It was also situated next to the lake and Ljbuljana's castle, making sightseeing easy and very walkable. Aside from that, Jaka and Taja were very helpful hosts and were always quick to respond to any queries I had. Thank you for such an amazing experience!

Jan is such a responsive and generous host. this amazing apartment had every possible amenity and then some. he has thought of everything and even provided fridge drinks and outlet plug adapters for out of country guests. this location might be one of the best we have had in all of or travels. beautifully updated apartment as well.

Miha’s place was the perfect location to celebrate my father in laws 70th birthday. The location is perfect- walkable to Lake Bled but so peaceful and quiet with beautiful Mountain Views. The hot tub was squeaky clean and was a lovely added bonus to the stay. Miha was a great host and allowed us to drop our bags earlier than check in which was great.

We loved our stay at Marusa’s beautiful home. The ideal location for travelling around the Slovenia. Quick drive to Bled, Lake Bohinj and the surrounding areas. 10 minute walk into the beautiful town of Radovljica. Marusa and her family were lovely hosts, very responsive to our messages and made us feel at home. Apartment was very clean and functional. Would recommend to anyone travelling around Slovenia.

The location is ideal: just 10 minutes from Lake Bled, 20 minutes from Lake Bohinj, and 25 minutes from Triglav National Park. It’s a great base for exploring the natural beauty of the region. But what truly made our stay unforgettable was Marija. She was warm, welcoming, and made us feel completely at home. She went above and beyond—offering tips, personalized itineraries, and tons of local insight. Her kindness and hospitality made our trip so much better than we ever imagined. Highly, highly recommend this gem—we can’t wait to come back!
