Holiday houses in Blackburn with Darwen

We stayed for a few weeks with family whilst sorting out things after a bereavement. Great location, handy for the motorway and plenty of shoos, pubs and takeaways. We would recommend the house.

We didn’t stay long at Sarah’s cottage as we were leaving for Manchester the next day. We used it as an overnight stop for the marathon the next day and it was perfect. It was easy to get to Manchester and it gave us some peace before the race. We all felt that we hadn’t made the most of the cottage as it is in such a beautiful area with access to many walking routes with beautiful views. The village is very quiet and looks like it has some nice restaurants there (we were not able to try them though). The cottage was clean and Sarah has put in a lot of effort to ensure that you are well looked after with many options of restaurants and walks recommended. Overall it was a great stay that could have been much better if we had made more of the cottage rather than just as an overnight stop.

Great birthday night stay at everything retreat, if you’re looking for a romantic break this place is perfect!

Great stay here in a really quiet location. Beautiful views and a great for lovely walks, especially with the dogs. Cute cottage, plenty of space for all of us. The fresh eggs were especially welcome surprise! 15 minute walk to the local pub, The Dog Inn, which was dog friendly and welcome pit stop on our way back from a very long walk. Thoroughly recommend staying at Midsummer Barn if you get the opportunity.

We stayed just for one night as we were attending a friends wedding. What a hidden gem! Absolutely perfect. Well thought our design and very spacious. Perfect for 4 people. Lovely little extras! Enjoyed sipping my morning coffee looking out on the view of the hills and birds chirping! Thanks 😊

This was truly a home from home experience. We loved it so much we extended our stay and were very sad to leave. Whilst in the property we celebrated my daughter’s 21st birthday, Denise even acknowledged this with a card and thoughtful gift. If you are thinking of staying in this area do not overlook meadowside cottage, this is a little gem of a place and we would not hesitate to stay here again. A perfect host.

Jude was an absolutely amazing host, she really went the extra mile to make our stay more comfortable. From the toys for our baby boy to the lovely bottle of fizz, even the kind offer to look after our baby so we could get some rest after a particularly bad teething episode kept us up. nothing was too much trouble, and our requests were accepted with no problem. the house itself is beautiful, the sofas and bed are soooo comfortable!! lovely and clean and lots of space for the little one to run around and explore. the views and garden were beautiful. The trip was speacial as it was booked to celebrate my first mothers day as a parent, and Jude helped make it that extra lovely!
