Waterfront holiday rentals in Big Sur

We came to Cayucos to enjoy a couple of days before moving our daughter out of her dorm at Cal Poly. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and a great location to go exploring with our dog. We appreciated the little touches from the nice products, the coffee bean grinder and the water filter machine. Everything is new and the decor felt very cozy. The comfortable bed and the rain shower were also nice to have! Though it is small, it really didn't feel that way! We will definitely come back and recommend to other Cal Poly families.

Beautiful place right on the beach. Fully remodeled unit and very clean. Fully stocked kitchen. Our family had a great time staying at this unit. Already planning to come back in couple of months.

We were just passing through on a roadtrip and stayed here for the night. This Texas girl was very surprised to find no AC in the place but I’ve been told there’s not much of a need for it in California and I understand why now! We slept comfortably. I think it’s important to note that this apartment is on the third floor and there’s no elevator but don’t let that keep you from booking the place! We will definitely be back!

Brenda’s place is kept super clean and is one block off of the water. It’s up on a hill so it still has a good view as well. Brenda was communicative to ensure we were well taken care of and the value was excellent! We were able to walk right to the marina, the Big rock, restaurants and shops. The condo has a great tv, and stocked kitchen with coffee. I highly recommend this home to stay in!

We had a wonderful stay this past weekend! The place was very clean a day modern. We loved all of the amenities they offered. it was the perfect place for our family of 4 to relax in such a beautiful space. Thank you! We will be back!

We have stayed at many beach hotels and apartments and this may have been the best. Beautiful view of the beach, which is pretty quiet. And you can walk on the beach for a couple of hours in either direction. Also really enjoyed the location in Watsonville, which is the strawberry capital of the US. And nice to have Monterey and Santa Cruz nearby. Communicaiton with Pajaro Dunes was very good and helpful. Look forward to coming back.

Probably the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in in terms of being a clean, well stocked place. So many little details done right. Charging docks on all the night stands. A “did you forget anything” toiletry basket in the restroom. The well equipped kitchen and selection of coffee from Keurig to Nespresso. A lot of care was put into this home and it’s well worth the asking price. As far as location, proximity to the beach, and views - that is all self explanatory. I had an amazing time, and will certainly book again.

I can’t boast about this place enough. Holly went above and beyond to communicate with me. She gave lots of recommendations for food places. We tried Manuel’s, Venus, Pizza my Heart, and The Hideout. Hands down, hideout was my favorite! The home was BEAUTIFUL! Literally, a dream! Our kids (12 & 7) loved it too. We celebrated my son’s 7th bday there. We beached every single day! Their home was beautiful, clean, and magical. The hubby and I slept with the doors cracked open upstairs and literally fell asleep and woke up to the crashing waves. Walk across the street and you’re on the beach! It was heaven. I told my family I was depressed coming back home. HA! The backyard was darling! The lights were my favorite & I didn’t realize there was a little sandpit. Such a great gem. We were welcomed with a basket too. Filled with local bread, taffy (my fav), cookies, wine and coffee; Even with a hand written note. I can’t wait to book their home again. It was a dream. Thank you for having us!!

Here’s a polished and friendly review you can use for Airbnb: We loved our stay at Thomas’s place! The location is perfect—walking distance to great bars, restaurants, and just steps from the water. The space itself is super cute, private, and comfortable. Thomas has two cats and a dog, all incredibly friendly, but the real star of the show is his co-host, Sylvester the cat. He’s got a big personality and was happy to hang out with us as much as we let him. If you’re a cat lover, you’ll adore him. The house was stocked with a few thoughtful provisions, and we especially appreciated the ice cream bars—such a nice touch. Hopefully Thomas’s place is available the next time we’re in Los Osos. We’d absolutely stay here again!

Dean’s place was great in terms of location, size and privacy. We’re familiar with pacific grove/monterey area so we knew what we were looking for. The house has (2) bathrooms which is great and appreciated as (1) bathroom abnb in the area are commonplace but with more than 3 people it’s great to have 2. House is located directly across from ocean walking path. You cross street and you are on the water-10 min walk to aquarium, cannery row, 10 min walk the other direction and you’re at lovers point restaurant. 10 min walk to downtown PG for many restaurants. Clean house, would stay there again for sure. Wife and I were there this time with 17yo nephew, 14yo and 12 yo sons. Plenty of space.

We loved our short stay here last year so we planned another trip this year! The location is beautiful, serene, and quiet. The house is clean, spacious, comfortable, and the views are amazing. We enjoyed the local farmers markets, great trails, daily walks on the beach, and easy access to towns along HWY 1. This is truly a special place we hope to return to again.

This is a great place to stay! The house was so clean..beautiful views..we saw a whale from the family room. Very hospitable, Bernardine was easy to communicate with. Our family cannot wait to return!

Jacob’s place was comfy and cozy, and a great spot just off the main streets of pismo. Everything was as expected and Jacob’s communication made the whole process a breeze. A beautiful and comforting place that I will be returning for in the future!

Great location and perfectly clean place to rest our heads after a day of exploring Monterey, Carmel, and Big Sur. Super close to grocery store, Costco (for food and gas), and Marshall’s, Ross, and Target just in case you forgot something for your stay. Kids loved Dennis the Menace Park and paddle boarding, adults loved the nearby bread and coffee shops and being so close to so many central coast gems.

Kristina’s place was absolutely beautiful and exactly as pictured. Breath taking ocean views and a short 5 minutes down to the beach. Kristina was very friendly checking in with us to make sure our trip was going good and if we needed anything. Would definitely stay here again !!! Great host great place and beautiful city !!

Amazing views of the Pajaro River and Pacific Ocean. Short walk (300 yards) to the beach along a boardwalk or enjoy the views from the livingroom through the large picture windows or deck. Perfect for a couple or young family (the two twin beds in the second bedroom are quite small but my 20 something daughters had no complaints). Abundant bird watching opportunities along with the occasional sea lion\seal and otter.

We had a wonderful short getaway at Sue’s place! The condo is just steps from the beach, pool, and jacuzzi. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was relaxing, and the ocean breeze was very refreshing. It was exactly what we needed to reset and recharge. Everything was just as described, and we would stay here again! Thank you, Sue!

My family of 4 had a wonderful stay! The pictures didn't do it justice - all the upgrades were well worth it and my family thoroughly enjoyed the stay there. My was very responsive and helpful. So glad we found it! Would definitely stay there again.

Absolutely loved my stay at Amber’s place! The beach is right down the street, and the space felt perfect in size. It’s just like a master bedroom! I’m so glad there were coat hangers, and a dresser because I always overpack and had a ton of clothes I didn’t want wrinkled. I will definitely be coming back!

We had a wonderful stay in Aptos! Hosts were very helpful, responsive, and flexible. You can tell they take great care of the house and think of all the details and amenities a visitor might need. Although we didn’t use the kitchen and bbq, everything you might need is there. The beds were very comfortable as well. The view is breathtaking, we even saw whales! It’s the perfect location to local restaurants, coffee spots, and grocery stores. Very close to Santa Cruz without the hustle and bustle. My family would definitely recommend and stay here again.

We’ve stayed at Pajaro Dunes before, but it’s been decades ago. Marc’s place was perfectly situated for privacy and views and was very clean and well appointed. The peacefulness and serenity were exactly what we were looking for. The beachy feel of the furnishings was charming and the unit included all that we needed including an upgraded and well furnished kitchen, a gas fireplace, a comfortable, king size bed and other essentials like extra blankets and a Kuerig coffee maker. Our only difficulty was when inadvertently trying to use the TV remote to change channels…Don’t Do That, Use the cable remote like it says in the instructions. Spent a thoroughly enjoyable four days here with side trips to Monterey and Carmel. Perfect home base for dining out and exploring the coast, and an excellent, proactive host.

This location is ideal for those who like easy access to hiking, walking, beach, pools etc. Also a short drive to Capitola, and Santa Cruz to the North. Views from the balcony are way better than the pictures. Stay here, you will not be disappointed.
