18th C Rascard in Gran Paradiso National Park

Original 18th C chalet, called "Rascard" locally, an authentic antique farm house, completely modernised and refurbished, preserving much of the original wooden structure and antique beams. Situated in small village Tignet, 1650m, part of the Gran Paradiso National Park, built on a spur with a wonderful view overlooking the Valsavarenche valley, the Savara river and mountain peaks and a waterfall on the left. The house balcony faces north with sun all day. Car parking space 50m from the chalet.

We have combined tradition and design, maintaining the original structure of the house and re-using the materials available in the old house . We have combined these antique materials (and objects) with a modern thought of aesthetics and comfort.

"La Casa dell 'Arco" takes its name from the entrance arch, a typical element of the architecture of Frassinetto, which characterizes this historic house. Its oldest nucleus presumably dates back to the 13th – 14th century. The unit is made up of three rooms with attention to detail to rediscover the warm atmosphere of the alpine houses. The living room with a sofa/bed and fireplace precedes the kitchen and to complete a beautiful room with shower and a comfortable and equipped bathroom.

We chose to come here, into the woods, to begin living a simple yet fulfilling life, learning from nature. We offer you an attic loft carefully renovated by Riccardo, with a double bed and a sofa bed (both beneath skylights), a kitchenette, a bathroom, and a wide view over the valley.
