Located in the highlands of Bali, we offer a private room on a homestead surrounded by an organic garden. Bugbugan, our small agricultural village, is just over an hours drive from both Seminyak/Canggu and Ubud areas. Our bed & breakfast is an excellent place for the seeker of adventure and the creator of experience.
“If you are looking for an authentic experience in Bali in a breathtakingly beautiful setting, this is the place. We are super happy that we have stayed with Margot and Joep. They are great hosts and wonderful people who are passionate about community based tourism and organic agriculture. Their house is beautifully and tastefully decorated (and the two friendly kitties were a big bonus). Although this is a shared accommodation, we always felt that we had enough space for ourselves while being so well taken care of by our hosts. We enjoyed watching the world goes by on the terrace and were also lucky enough to see some local traditions and ceremony while we were staying there. There is so much more in the area to explore, away from the buzz and tourist traps. Although we stayed for 3 nights, we felt like we could have stayed a week easily. We'll be back! Thank you for everything :)”

“Not sure where to begin, this was an absolutely incredible experience. Sheila greeted us with welcome drinks and Mr. Lalu and his wife Nur were there to take care of us the whole stay. The location is easy to find and the area has several amazing things to do, like waterfalls and the Jatiluwih Rice Terrace. The Batak Legacy house itself is gorgeous, with modern finishes for some key things like bathroom and bed etc, while the structure and house itself is an historical artifact with hand carved symbols on the entire surface. We went to stay in a bamboo house near Ubud before this and Batak Legacy was by far our favorite. Something different than the thousands of bamboo places spread all over Bali. I would definitely recommend anyone who wants a unique experience to stay here, and will be raving about Batak to all my friends when I get back home to Europe! Thank you Sheila w/Family for an amazing time, all the best!”
My name is Nyoman, I was born and rise in Bali, I live with my family and we would be pleased to tell you more about life and culture in Bali. You will be staying in a private room with balcony overlooking the Batukaru mountain surrounding by rice fields, breathtaking. Our house is located in Pacung, only 6km away from temple Beratan and 20km from Ubud. Several restaurants and shops walking distance but still very peaceful and unique experience
“Do you need time away from the busy city? Do you want to fall asleep to the sounds of nature? And do you want to enjoy amazing sunrises/sunsets? If yes to any of these continue reading... Pondok Nyoman is a well run facility with great staff and location. I was warmly greeted by staff and the check in was efficient. I received a welcome drink of Balinese coffee (there are other choices as well). The view of the mountains and rice terraces from this room are just like the pictures. You have a view from your bed through the window but the front seating area is much better. You can also try the roof top seating area. This particular room is quite large with a desk, benches, nightstands, clothes dresser, nice sheets/blankets, and clean pillows. The bathroom is quite large with good water pressure and HOT water. Perfect for the cool morning/evening showers. The room was very clean. This area is just at the base of the hill going to the two lakes north of the pondok. The lakes and main tourist area is a short drive north. However, you can access many of the well known waterfalls around the area as well. It is quite cool here in the evenings and mornings so I would suggest some warm clothing. The room, I discovered in the morning, was warmer than I expected (which was surprising with the screened vents) The retained heat was very comfortable. Breakfast came with this room and motorbike rental is available as well. Many of the local businesses close down quite early so if you want nightlife this area is not for you. Overall, I had a great stay. When coming to this location (from the south), you will first see a Pondok Nyoman sign on the left, then one of the right, and a third at the left turn onto a tiny dirt road. This dirt road is in between the Indomaret (on left side of the road, south) and the Circle K (right side of the road, north).”
