Cottage holiday rentals in Balmaseda

Host and their family went out of their way to assist us. Together we looked through our trip itinerary and made additional suggestions where appropriate. They helped us when we broke down with a flat tire communicating with the rental car company to get us a new rental and tow truck. Our last day we thought we had left some items at the rental after we had checked out and they went back to open the house up to allow us to get back inside and find our items. Very friendly. The house was great and overlooks a valley with the towns below. We were visited by cows and sheep and all the snails and slugs natural to the area. After hiking, biking, and visiting the surrounding towns it was a nice relaxing spot to come back to. I would highly recommend!

Highly recommended. We spent two nights, a group of 8 friends. The house is beautiful, spacious, cozy, tastefully decorated, has all the details. We were very pleased, and looking forward to repeating.

We stayed 2 nights in this beautiful cottage. The very well-equipped kitchen, jacuzzi and swimming pool very well cared for, and the neighbor's dog is very friendly. There are amazing landscapes around the area (we went to a beautiful waterfall). But above all, I would highlight the kindness and good communication with Veronica, she was very flexible and she was attentive to us when we needed it for punctual issues. ☺️ We would definitely repeat in this dream house ❤️ Thank you!!!

Antonio is a fantastic host. Super responsive and very helpful especially with recommendations for local walks and for helping with animal health certificate requirements for returning to the UK. The house was big enough for the 11 of us and there was plenty for all of us to do for the whole week we were there. Any issues we had were resolved incredibly quickly by Antonio. Just a short walk from the house is a lovely little cafe that sells baguettes, coffee and some alcohol - very reasonably priced but please note only takes cash which caught us out on our first visit. We visited Balmaseda a couple of times which has an incredible bakery which I would very much recommend. The train station is less than 5 minutes walk but we didn’t get the train whilst we were there - it may have been quicker to get to bilbao and something to check out if you visit again. We had a lovely 4 nights at Maria, enjoying relaxing at the beautiful terrace and jacuzzi. Would love to come back again!

One of my best experiences ever . Irati was absolutely superb from start to finish an excellent communicator and nothing was too much bother . The cottage was delight ful and the scenery was amazing . She even organised our taxi in and out of the city not to mention booking our tables at the restaurants we ate in . Out of 10 I would give her 11

Great place and very accommodating

We had a great time at Ana's place, the perfect location. Everything was clean and tidy.

The stay at Carmen's place was great! Communication with her from the first moment has been very good and has clarified all the doubts that could have arisen for us! The house is great and has enough space for all the guests it marks in the description. We have gone with two babies under 2 years old and they have also really enjoyed the stay! The shame is that it has made us bad weather and we could not enjoy the garden but we did not have the bbq of which the accommodation has. All the stays are equipped with what you need and the heating in autumn winter works great! The environment of the place is beautiful so in good weather it has to be a joy to enjoy it! Wow, what great house. The location is absolutely stunning in a little village with beautiful mountain views. The house itself is great—they’ve done a great job renovating and the whole thing feels very new and fresh and clean. A perfect place for a peaceful escape. Great communication as well. I would definitely stay here again.

A great stay. A house in the middle of nature (but with easy access), with a garden and barbecue. The rooms are spacious and have more than you need. The owners are always available for anything and very, very kind. Unbeatable value for money, we will definitely be back.

The house was very well maintained, clean and tidy. The garden is very large and completely enclosed, ideal if you are traveling with a dog. The area is very quiet with good walks, without shops nearby. Entry and out times were very flexible. Johanna was always very attentive to our requests.

Brilliant place to stay, 40 mins from Bilbao, nice and quiet countryside location, the next village has a couple of bars and restaurants and a really nice bakery.. Alberto’s house was beautiful, I will definitely be back in the future… even message me the best ways to get to Bilbao stadium and home on European cup final night..

The house was impeccable, with everything you need to feel comfortable. The environment is beautiful, there is a lot of peace and tranquility, and it has spectacular views. Laura, the hostess, was attentive to whether we needed anything, and left us some sobaos and quesada to welcome us. We went with family and friends to spend the weekend and we wanted to spend more days there. In short, we felt right at home.

A lovely home in the country but just a 10 min walk to the main street. It was so peaceful with the country noises in the background. Parking was in the yard and there were plenty of outdoor seating choices. Esmerelda and her Mum were very attentive at all times making sure we were happy. We visited Santander an easy day trip and stayed overnight to visit Bilbao. Absolutely loved our 10 night stay and highly recommend.

A great stay, the house is as shown in the images, very comfortable to go in a group, with large and open spaces and very well equipped. We were even able to take advantage of the porch despite the bad weather. The surroundings are very nice and peaceful. Andreea was a perfect host, always attentive. Thank you so much!

We had a weekend with the family for Grandpa's birthday and we were all delighted. The surroundings are gorgeous with those green mountains and next to the forest trees, we enjoyed both the back patio and the front porch, we dined in the kitchen that it has fully equipped and comfortable. House equipped with barbecue and firewood that we enjoy a lot. Very comfortable beds and pillows, we sleep great. The upstairs bedroom room has some belux on the ceiling that we forgot to see if they could be closed before bed, it's a matter of asking. It has a magnifying glass and other nearby supermarkets where we bought what we had forgotten. We would definitely repeat

This house was absolutely breathtaking. Although it is not in a main city it is definitely close by and worth a stay. This place overlooks a beautiful vineyard and makes you feel like you're in a little oasis. The outdoor entertainment was amazing with an outdoor kitchen and barbecue that allows for wonderful nights enjoying your time. The views are incredible, the town is peaceful. Hosts were extremely kind, helpful and gave great recommendations.

Great Peaceful Location, away from the usual crowded touristy places, but with lots to do and visit in the area, for interesting and fun day trips and beach only 50 minutes away.

We had a really nice time at Jon's beautiful house! The house is very large, equipped with all comforts and has a great view! The garden is wonderful to stay in! The location is very convenient, with lots of lovely walks nearby! Jon is a very friendly and respectful host! We would definitely come back and can absolutely recommend the home.

The house is very clean and tastefully decorated. It is very cozy and has a very nice garden with a terrace. The water pressure and temperature are very good, the textiles (towels and sheets) are of good quality and it has all kinds of kitchenware to make the stay as complete and pleasant as possible. The location is exceptional, as from there you can visit iconic towns in beauty and heritage wealth of both Palencia and Cantabria. Definitely a place to stay that we will return to and highly recommended.

Great place in a beautiful location with views out to the mountains. Marysol was a terrific host who responded to all queries instantly. She was even able to help with transportation in and out of Bilbao on Europa League Final day. Thanks again for a great experience.

Our stay was excellent. The house is just as described: very clean, comfortable and almost brand new. The spaces are cared for and family-friendly. The kids loved the trampoline, they had a big time. Although it is a little out of the way from Torrelavega, the location is very quiet and the connection with the highway is perfect for moving around the area. It was a good starting point to get to know Cantabria. Yohana was always attentive and very kind. We would definitely repeat. Highly recommend
