It is an ideal location to explore NI and provides guests with a quiet semi-rural location and yet is convenient to Whitehead where you will find local shops and cafes and also a train station with links to Belfast. Local attractions include Blackhead Coastal Walk, Whitehead Railway Museum and the Gobbins Cliff Path Walk which is located approx. 2 miles from the cottage.

Croob View Black Hut

Enjoy the setting of this romantic spot on a working sheep and cattle farm in the Dromara Hills, nestled in nature. Between Castlewellan and Dromara, 15min drive to Newcastle, 25min from Belfast. A couples retreat with a new electric hot tub in the middle of a mountain, sheep as the only possible disturbance. Guests are welcome to meet and greet our animals at the gate up to the hut. Honey the Falabella horse, 5 pygmy goat and our Free range hens, who give our guests eggs in our welcome pack.

Sergeants House

The Sergeants house is part of a former police station built in 1901 that has been renovated complete with all you require to enjoy a relaxing stay in the centre of a conservation area. With beautiful scenic walks to Blackhead lighthouse and the White Harbour and only a short drive to the world famous Gobbins cliff path and Islandmagee peninsula your stress will disappear. Only a short walk from the train station and many eateries with the benefit of free parking across the road.

Bird Island Bothy

Wake with the rising sun, shrill calls of the wading birds, and waves breaking on the shore only meters away. The wild shore and vegetation provide a great habitat for birds, mammals, insects and spiders typical of the Irish coast. Wading birds can be seen feeding along the undisturbed shore. Bird Island Bothy has the feel of a sailing ship's cabin with chunky wooden beams, mock four-poster bed and plush velvet curtains. A great base from which to explore the Ards Peninsula.
