We had a stay at this charming colonial-style house. The gardens were beautifully maintained, creating a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. The bathrooms were very basic but spotlessly clean, which we appreciated. Krishantha provided a reliable and reasonably priced airport pickup and drop-off service, which made our travel so much easier. He was also incredibly accommodating, picking us up from restaurants in the evenings and even dropping us at the train station for the next leg of our journey. We stayed here both at the beginning and end of our holiday, and it was the perfect place to relax. A very lovely and hospitable couple—highly recommended!

Sebastian’s Hydeaway was the perfect retreat—peaceful, private, and beautifully maintained. The space was spotless, stylish, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We loved the thoughtful touches and how quiet the surroundings were—it truly felt like a little escape from the city. The Balumgala estate was the highlight of our stay in Sri Lanka. From the peaceful surroundings, to the tranquil environment, tasteful furnishings and comfortable beds, the large and well-equipped kitchen, the walawwa style architecture, everything was perfect. Our host, Sandun was always available on Whatsaap to sort out either the wifi connectivity or the TV connection, which was not initially working. The staff at the property did everything to accommodate our needs for meals or recreation, and Siva deserves all the compliments that he has received in the other reviews. He is very polite, caring, thoughtful and an incredible cook!! We stayed here for two nights during the annual Avurudu with a family of five and we would come back any day for another memorable holiday at the picturesque Balumgala estate.
