Family-friendly holiday rentals in Alta Sierra

Our family of 10- 6 adults, 3 under 4 and an infant enjoyed Catherine's amazing place. She was great answering my questions and always available, the gathering areas were large and accommodated all of us. The adults enjoyed our morning coffee on the porch and the kids loved the toy and book area under a gable on the 2nd floor. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed. A Victorian Rose is so close to the downtown and everywhere we needed to be for our Nephews wedding. Thanks Catherine for hosting us!

This property is a literal slice of heaven. It's so peaceful and magical and feels worlds away when only being a few minutes to town. The house was one of the most comfortable airbnbs we have stayed in – and we have stayed in many! Our whole family enjoyed it. Great for adults, kids and lots of room for your dog run and explore. Wish we could have stayed longer!

We rented Sharen’s place for a family weekend with 7 guests. Check in was easy. The house was clean and comfortable with plenty of space. The additional bunkhouses were great. We felt right at home. We easily cooked all meals in the stocked kitchen. The house is next to the lake and the fishing was incredible! We couldn’t believe how many fish we caught, including several good sized bass. We spent most of our time by the lake and met some very friendly neighbors. Note: bring bug spray. I would’ve stayed an extra week if I could have. Definitely deserves the title of Guest Favorite.

Always a great stay. Thanks for turning on the air conditioner before we arrived. Understandably, the spa has a lot of chemicals in it, but as one point the smell made me dizzy. Beautiful water feature!

I knew the house would be rustic, so I brought my camping gear. I did not need them. The kitchen was well equipt. I could cook anything I needed to make on the hot plate or in the microwave/toaster. There was also a smoker and like 5 BBQs. Do not be worried about cooking. The location is awesome. It is so close to so many things.. or you can just hang out on the property. We spent a day on the property and a day exploring. We spent every night in the hot tub. It was glorious. The bed is very comfortable!

We had a wonderful time celebrating Memorial Day weekend at Willow's place. The amenities were perfect for our stay with plenty of space for us all to feel comfortable. The bedrooms were spacious, we enjoyed eating meals in the lovely dining area, as well as barbecuing and eating dinner outdoors under the gazebo. We even found an opportunity to take a soak in the hot tub. The location was desirable - close to several restaurants and stores. While in the area, members of our party enjoyed rafting down the American River, hiking to the waterfall in Sly Park, wine tasting, golfing, lunch at a brewery in Placerville, and take-out from the nearby pizza place which was actually quite tasty. We also appreciated the excellent communication between the host. We'd love to go back in the future - Pollack Pines has so much to see and do and Willow's place has all the comforts anyone could ever ask for!

This was one of the nicest Airbnbs we’ve stayed in. Peggy was great & her unit, though small, was uncluttered , very comfortable & very well stocked. The crowning feature was the lovely, peaceful & cool backyard. Our 4 year old granddaughter lived visiting

What a paradise this place is! So peaceful and idyllic. The sauna and hot tub area was the highlight of the stay. And we loved getting body treatments from Shari and Mia!

The workshop was absolutely charming and exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, Gail's personalized welcome signs made my pup and I feel instantly at home. The craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout the space were truly impressive, and the cozy ambience made it even better than the photos. Gail was incredibly attentive and communicative throughout our stay which is always greatly appreciated. Will be coming here again when we're in the area :). I highly recommend the workshop to anyone looking for a cozy retreat.

INCREDIBLE find just minutes from the gorgeous Yuba River, can't thank Rachel enough for her home. We had the best time, beautiful pet-friendly back yard, comfortable beds, relaxing living room and checking in and out was super easy. We'll be back for sure!

Just stayed at this beautiful AirBnB cabin—absolutely stunning! The host has amazing taste in decor, and every detail is thoughtfully planned, from cooking equipment to outdoor candles for keeping bugs away. The breathtaking view and cozy outdoor deck made it easy to relax and count the stars. Plus, the host even provides a self-made handbook with local guides and dog-friendly trail information, which was a big plus for us. Truly a perfect stay!

We really liked this place. Rural, very scenic. The cabin is very well constructed and well maintained. Nice step-in shower. Good kitchen. Bring food. There aren’t many dining choices nearby. The trading post at Dutch Flat is surprisingly well stocked, which is a good thing because the mini-mart/gas station at the Dutch Flat off ramp is the only other place around to get provisions.

We loved this cute spot. It has the most beautiful yard to enjoy as well. We will definitely be back.

Adorable home in the heart of Nevada City. Perfect for a short girls trip while visiting my aunt who is a longtime resident of Nevada City and also celebrating her birthday. The decor is right up our alley. We have driven by this place so many times, wanting to stay the night and it finally happened. Host is very proactive with emails and instructions. We hope to stay at her other location in the future as that is our other frequent vacation destination.

The cabin was amazing. Just outside of town and on a private pond. They have a summer camp across the pond. You hear cheerful kids playing and the serene landscape of the ca foothills. Truly a great place to stay.

Our family stayed at Casi’s home for a wedding weekend and was GREAT! Highly recommended to all! House was Comfortable, had all necessary essentials to make family meals, was roomy, clean, private and enjoyable. Will definitely stay again when in area again! We had a fabulous time and the back yard / pool area was a perfect setting for my large bachelorette. It seemed the host was anxious about having a group our size (23 women) yet did not list anywhere a maximum number of guests on the listing. It seemed we earned their trust through the stay though. Initially it felt awkward to have to text the host for things like turning on the hot tub or outdoor lights or pool slide, but they were pretty fast in response time and it ended up feeling pretty easy. Wish the kitchen would have had more kitchen towels, seems maybe not set up for full on dinner party use - but they did bring trash bags and replace the outside grill upon our request, which was impressive. Overall a positive experience! The grotto was lots of fun - we never left the property all weekend.

We recently stayed at Don and Kathy’s beautiful home for our son’s wedding weekend and it was absolutely magical. Don and Kathy were incredibly hospitable, always easy to reach, and made us feel so welcome. The home itself is stunning—truly something to experience. The home is well-appointed and thoughtfully designed, offering both comfort and style for a truly relaxing stay. The surroundings felt straight out of a Hallmark movie, with autumn leaves falling and twinkling Christmas lights creating a festive atmosphere. It was cozy, inviting, and felt just like home. We can't wait to come back and stay here again! Thank you, Don and Kathy, for making our special weekend even more memorable!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful property! There was plenty of space for our entire wedding party, and it was spotless when we arrived. Kathleen was an incredible host — so helpful, responsive, and flexible throughout the whole process, which made everything smooth and stress-free. The property itself is truly unique, with so many interesting historical decorations that gave it so much charm and character. We also loved taking advantage of all the activities available on-site, which made for an unforgettable experience. All our guests raved about the layout of the space and how much they enjoyed their time there. Highly recommend this Airbnb — it was the perfect setting for such a special occasion!

This wonderful little cabin was a great place to spend a getaway weekend with my son. The peaceful, wooded surroundings provided the relaxing backdrop I was looking for and my son was delighted with the wood burning stove. He discovered that the pine cones that were suggested as fire starters did a great job and he had a great time replenishing their supply from the woods around the cabin.

We had a awesome time, our host provided great communication and the house was exactly what we hoped for. The weather was hot and the pool was the perfect, AC was cold for when we couldn't be in the pool. Fun to play pool, chess, cards and watch movies in the theatre room. Great kitchen with everything you need. Thank you for having us.

Wonderful hosts and beautiful private property

There was so much more than we expected, the house is just bursting with interesting art, cool gadgets, above and beyond thoughtful accessories, super comfy everything, and, I don't know, just an awesome vibe. The kids would've been entertained for weeks just with the room full of toys but there's a legit play structure, tricycles, and the pool area is full of pool toys, floaties, etc. also! The garden and yard were amazing, baby birds and butterflies, and way bigger than it looks in the pictures. There are trees all around so it really does feel totally private but it's conveniently close to restaurants, shopping, etc. Heather definitely went out of her way to make our trip better, like filling up the baby pool so that my eight-month old could have sun-warmed water to play in (which he loved), actually she thought of so many things I didn't, lol, she's the hostess with the mostest!

Omgosh this place is so cute. I came in town to visit family by myself and I felt very safe. I used the pool everyday. I will for sure be back. Very nice and helpful host.
