Holiday rentals with lake access in Africa

This beautiful, historic home was everything we hoped it would be and more. Millie was very friendly and helpful. We all wished we could have stayed longer.

The perfect place for all those seeking peace and relaxation. The small village is simply magical, the view of the sea is a dream and the apartment is traditionally but stylishly furnished. In addition, compared to other AirBNBs, everything was thought of, there are, for example, kitchen roll, dishwasher tabs and finally two dish towels.

Xairu is absolutely stunning. The home is immaculate, and the view and scenery is amazing. Lots of wonderful birdlife too. Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away. Thank you!

Relatively easy to find, accommodation was spotless & in good condition. Tendai was helpful & friendly. All services & amenities were as advertised. Quick, excellent room service by friendly waitstaff was a most pleasant surprise!

The home is as beautiful as it appears with gorgeous views. Check-in and check-out were easy and hosts were always extremely responsive. As stated in the listing, it is a decent climb up the (uneven) stairs to get to the house, so would be challenging for folks with any mobility issues, but the views are definitely worth it for people who are able, and the house staff met us at the boat to carry bags and offer us walking sticks. The welcome juice was a lovely touch! Kitchen had essentials for cooking, and it was easy enough to get food delivered from My Hill Eco Lodge as well. We also set up both a hike and a boat ride through the folks at the lodge as well, which were both great. Hot water runs on solar so if you're there during cloudy days or rainy season, and you don't have hot water, let the hosts know and they were able to switch it over to electric for us to have hot water. Overall, if you're looking for a lovely, relaxing spot, this is a nice one!

We cannot fault anything! Honestly our very best stay - Adet was incredibly accommodating as we had a child from the UK with us travelling at a different time, we had small children with us- she just helped us all the time. Definitely our best air bnb

The studio is beautifully decorated and it is very comfortable. The air conditioning is a real plus and our nights were very good. Our host was exceptional, helpful, caring and gave very good advice. I recommend 400%.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely Airbnb! From the moment we walked in, it felt like home. The electric blankets and wall heater were a huge bonus, keeping us nice and toasty during our stay. The room itself was a perfect blend of charm and coziness. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend it to others. It is our second time staying here and we most definitely come back again. Centrally located with the most beautiful views over the lagoon. Surrounded by restaurants and shops but apartment is private and quiet at night. Kitchen is well equipped with all necessary to cook any meal. Extras like purified water and cookies. Open plan lounge and dining area. Netflix and You Tube available. Lovely bedroom with lots of cupboards. Bathroom with shower and bath. We can recommend this accommodation if you love nature and also like to be centrally located.

We had a wonderful stay with Marelize and Dawie! The hosts were friendly and very helpful. The unit was perfect, spacious and the fireplace was a big bonus for us. The location is absolutely perfect and ideal for anyone wanting to visit Franschhoek and all the surrounding wine farms. 100% would recommend!

We absolutely adored Sherif's place, it felt so rustic and warm. The lighting was absolutely amazing and bright, it made the place feel warm and inviting. We really felt at home. The ambiance was lovely and we felt spoiled. The beds were so comfy with fresh clean linen. The shower had great water flow. The location itself was quiet and not overwhelming which is great in comparison in Egypt. We felt safe and were warmly invited by Sherifs friend. check in and check out were smooth. We loved the recommendations from Sherif also, was a lovely touch. Many lovely cafes within couple of min walking.

We stayed in Yvonne and Juan's apartment for 1 week. The apartment is super cozy, very tastefully decorated and super equipped. The great roof terrace is the perfect place for breakfast and sunbathing🌞. Although the apartment is right in the center, it is super quiet at night. Supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and nice bars are very close and within walking distance. Yvonne is a great host, always helpful, and yet she respects the privacy of her guests. We had a super nice week and would very much like to come again. Many thanks to Yvonne and Juan for everything 🌸

Beautiful, calming, stunning views, comfortable, the best starry nights.

We had such a lovely weekend at Sarah's cottage — it really felt like a home away from home! The view was absolutely stunning, and the best part is that it’s just a short walk from some great restaurants. Sarah truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, sharing fantastic recommendations for local dining and fun activities. This charming place is only a short stroll from the lake, where you can enjoy Fisherman's Camp for a drink on the veranda or visit Camp Carnelleys for a delicious meal. Plus, Hellsgate National Park is just down the road, ready for exploration. Personally, I enjoyed spending my time relaxing on the veranda, immersing myself in a good book, and taking in the breathtaking views of the lake! I did see some comments on Airbnb about the access road to the cottage being a bit tricky, but honestly, it’s really not bad at all. The short stretch on a dirt track is manageable for any car, provided you drive at a slow pace.

Allison was super friendly , gave us great recommendations for activities and kid friendly places. Randomly checked in on us to make sure we were comfortable throughout our stay.
