It was when I had lived in Jeju for about 15 years. I thought it was a bit of a waste to come all the way to Jeju just to live in the city, so I spent about two years exploring and searching all over Jeju. I had spent three months camping with my two children in a mountain village in the European Alps. I thought it would be even better if it was a place that captured that feeling. That's how life in Sogil began. My husband, who was always interested in building houses with wood, such as attending a hanok school and building small wooden houses, built pleasant and nature-friendly wooden houses here one by one with his own hands. Over the course of 10 years, five wooden houses were built. I feel a sense of fulfilment as people from all over the world, including domestic travellers, come to this place, Sogil-ri in Aewol-eup, to connect with each other and share their wishes for peace. We will continue to operate comfortable, clean and healthy accommodation in the future.
