"Kogake", a 100-year-old authentic Japanese house in the centre of Miyazu City You can experience traditional Japanese living, with antique folk items, a staircase chest of drawers, and a nagaoji (a bride's chest for storing futons and other items) on display. It is located behind Wakimiya Shrine, and the shrine's sacred chants can be heard softly in the background. Beyond that is the Miyazu Catholic Church, one of the oldest wooden churches in Japan. It is an 8-minute walk (600 m) from Miyazu Station and 5 minutes to the sea. A supermarket, convenience store, and coin laundry are within a 5-minute walk. It is in a prime location, 15 minutes by bike to Amanohashidate, one of Japan's three most scenic spots. At the end of the pine tree-lined road is "Moto-Isegokaji Shrine · Manai Shrine", which is famous as a power spot. You can get to Igen's Funaya by bus from in front of the City Hall in about an hour for 400 yen each way. Because it is an old house, it is not very well insulated. It is fully equipped with air conditioning and heating. The walls between the house and the neighbouring house are thin, so please avoid making loud voices or sounds, especially at night. Please refrain from bringing children under 10 years old as the furniture and fixtures are old. This is a private rental accommodation located next to the historic site of the former Sanjo residence in Miyazu City, Kyoto Prefecture. The former Sanjo family has prospered in the shipping, silk, and sake industries in Miyazu Castle since the Edo period. It was also the residence of the Edo shogunate patrol officer, and in the Meiji period, it was the residence of Prince Arisugawa Takahito and Prince Komatsu Takahito, and is now designated as an important cultural property by the country. We have rebuilt the annex as an inn, "Miyanaka Kanbei Honten". The name of the house is the same as the sake brewery at the time. The owner carefully selected high-quality flooring and tiles while maintaining the atmosphere of that time, and placed selected sofas, tables, and bar counters in the living room on the ground floor. We have created a space for you to relax and unwind. Please spend your time in a high-quality space while feeling the history and seasonal changes of Miyazu, a port town that has fascinated many people since ancient times.
