Earlier this year, Marrickville was voted the 10th coolest neighbourhood in the world by Time Out. And this would be the coolest pad in that neighbourhood. It's a big space on the first floor of an old warehouse. Downstairs is a working art studio - The Bakehouse Studio Marrickville run by Lisa Hoelzl. The guests who love our place the most are the ones who like the idea of staying in a warehouse flat on top of a studio and engaging with our odd extended household and neighbourhood.

Staying at David’s place was truly one of the best experiences I’ve had on Airbnb. The room was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully stocked with everything I could possibly need. David even messaged me the day before it rained just to remind me to bring an umbrella. It’s these small but heartfelt gestures that made me feel genuinely cared for. I’m so grateful for this stay. I had a lovely stay! Everything was super walkable and it was close to the bus line. It was truly a little paradise in the suburbs! Lots of beautiful birds (they are peaceful but certainly not quiet), amazing foliage, and the cat in the yard was such a sweetie. I would definitely stay here again!!

It was a beautifully done up hideaway in a well-located place not too far from a pretty beach with an off-lead area for dogs right at the end. While it might be oddly specific, the underfloor heating of the bathroom was very welcome in this cold season. Our two furbabies really loved running around the yard too.

David is a great host, very caring and tried his best to accommodate to my needs in checking in and checking out so I don’t have to go to the airport 6 hours ahead. He helped me carried my 30kg suitcase all the way to the third floor! I enjoyed talking with David and loved seeing his music workshop and listening to his music! Will definitely stay at David’s apartment again if I visit Sydney another time!
