Holiday houses in Wells

Overall, the Crab House was a great place to spend our week-long vacation. You can't beat the location. It's right on the beach with beautiful views of - and easy access to - the ocean. The house is VERY clean and has a lovely, fresh smell to it. I'm very particular when it comes to cleanliness and often have to spend the first day of our vacations cleaning our rental. But not here!! It's nice and well-appointed, but comfortable/modest enough where I wouldn't have worried about having my grandchildren there. One thing that wasn't problematic for us, but might be for others: The master bedroom suite/top level is visually private, but doesn't have a door to it. So, you can hear everyone on the main level (and they can hear you). It also results in the master bedroom being warmer than the other levels. Our friends staying in the lower-level bedroom were cold and wanted the heat on, but that prevented us from using the A/C. Opening the master suite windows fixed that problem for us.

My husband and I have been vacationing in Wells for years. This is the first year we traveled to Wells around the holidays and the first time we used Air BnB. Beautiful time of year to see the lower coastline of Maine. The Air BnB on Atlantic Ave that David hosted is perfect. The atmosphere, location, beachfront, and a spacious patio/deck is amazing. The master bedroom has a remarkable view of the ocean and allows you to hear the sounds of the waves crashing onto the beach for that calm feeling. The town had their 39th annual holiday parade which did not disappoint. No question the Seafood in the area is stellar. Many small shops in the area and if you have time Portland is an hour away and they have a very eclectic scene. Kennebunkport, York, Ogunquit are all in driving distance, those towns are gorgeous as well. We love Wells Beach and everything seems to center around its location. Be advised that some of the local business may be closed due to being seasonal. Thank you David.

We really enjoyed staying at Shelli's Dream Catcher guesthouse. Access to a beautiful beach almost directly across the street, and great views of the marsh directly out of the back windows. The place was clean and well laid out. Shelli was responsive and gave us an unexpected early check-in. Sunsets and sunrises were awesome. We stayed in late October, so I believe some of the restaurants within walking distance were closed at this point. Still, it's a great location in Wells, and only a short drive from area restaurants, shopping and other locations. We would recommend Dream Catcher at the Beach!

We had a wonderful stay at 'Simple and Happy'. It was extremely clean and comfortable. There was nothing that we needed, everything was thought of and provided for. The decorations and ambiance was spectacular! We especially enjoyed sitting out on the back deck overlooking the marsh and watching the birds. Stephanie was an excellent host!

We spent 6 nights at the Paddle Inn and never tired of the lovely marsh view. The Paddle Inn is a restful place to return to after a day out. It is clean, comfortable and cozy and located close to the beach. Would highly recommend.

I loved this stay! The area was super cute and within proximity to so many lovely cities in Maine. The unit was pristine and the perfect “beachy” get away. The owners even had little kits with sunscreen and aloe which was very thoughtful. My only con was the check out time- it’s super early. Most places at least give patrons until 11 am. I hope they can change that until at least 10:30 am for people to have a bit more time. Other than that, again I loved it and would definitely stay again.

We had such a great stay at Ogunquit. Andrew's place was clean and the kitchen was well equipped with everything you could possibly need. I especially liked how walkable it was to all the different bars, restaurants and the beach! We will certainly return next year.

Me and my growing family had a wonderful stay at the property. Great privacy, beautiful wooded lot surrounded by nature for or son to explore. Conveniently located and easy access made our action pack schedule feel like we were a local! Very well appointed home, great beds and toilets that are something to write home about. We cannot wait to be back! Great communication with the host, which made all arrangements simple and effortless. Home design is thoughtful and purposeful, ensuring management of the little ones easy because of a suburb layout and control of staircases with lockable doors. Cannot wait to be back!
