Tom's place is an absolute gem! His family are so kind and helpful. They met us at the airport, and treated us like family. He knows so much about the island, and the food that Clera prepared in the beautiful restaurant was delicious! If you want an authentic experience, this is your place!

Beachfront Villa 1 @ Santo Seaside Villas

Clean efficient space, comfortable beds, beautiful outdoor area to relax, drink wine and swim. Transportation is convenient at the road and there are amenities within walking distance (Vanuatu walking distance!). I would definitely stay there again. Gracious hostess who is available for assistance but not in the way.

The Surf House

ClareRating, 5 stars1 day ago
The surf house was the perfect stay at the end of our trip to Vanuatu. We stayed a few nights and the location was perfect and house had everything we needed and more. We cooked at home and walked to local restaurants and cafe. Quick bus ride from out front in to town for groceries and more restaurants/shopping. Warm water right out front. My Husband rented a board and surfed each morning and I signed up for surf school with Thomas. Had the most incredible couple of days in and out the water with Thomas' exceptional indoor set up to learn all the foundations of surfing before hitting the waves. I highly recommend anyone from zero experience to professional to try out the surf school as it is a totally innovative approach and ALL will get something out of it. Fanny and their Son also joined us surfing and we had so much fun. I highly recommend the surf house for location, set up, hosts and overall perfect place to stay.

Beachfront Villa 2 @ Santo Seaside Villas

Our stay at Esline’s place exceeded our expectations. She was so kind to pick us up from the airport and even cooked us delicious dinner when our plane arrived late. The entire property is extremely well kept - beautiful garden, super comfy & nice interior of the houses, felt instantly at home. Waking up by the ocean with a shipwreck & great snorkeling right in front of our doorstep was such a treat. Our son loved the little beach next to the house, as there were always local kids to play in the water. It felt really special. Esline was always helpful and incredibly knowledgable. She organized a great half day tour to the blue holes with us, incl. a ride on a traditional canoe. We had everything just for ourselves, with lots of interesting insider stories about growing up & living in Vanuatu. We would come back anytime we are in Santo.

Hidden Treasure Bungalow- Family room

We really loved our stay with Tom's family, they made us feel very welcome. You can get a dinner at the little restaurant they run (or used to run as everything is currently very quiet with no tourists). The place is so beautiful with a little beach you can swim in where all the locals go. The kids are happy to play with you, and Tom's daughter, Sarah was so friendly and showed us around. It's all a bit rundown with no tourists revenue, so you have to be okay with that, and we were aware of that prior to coming, having travelled Vanuatu for a couple of weeks. Water and power is intermittent (still a luxury on this remote island we think). Contrary to the other reviews we didn't encounter any rats. Currently Tom is locked out of his Airbnb account, so unless that gets sorted, the communication might be tricky, be mindful of that. Also the phone number that shows on the account is lost. We just showed up, and they were unaware of our booking, however ever so welcoming. Thank you.
