Cabin holiday rentals in Upala

We started our journey here and what a great start it was! The rooms are just amazing, from the kitchen to the bedroom and my personal favorite, the shower. But just as good: the outside. The pool with the warm water was our favorite place, but do not skip the morning walks inside the gardens - we saw so many animals, mainly birds, but also a sloth and a tiny anteater.

Very nice hosts and a very peaceful stay! Loved the agriculture and views around the place. Far enough from the crowds but close enough to the town of La fortuna. It was perfect!

We loved this little oasis. jacuzzi awesome. A/c worked great! Hot water and shower were great! Clean! Deck lovely. Bed very comfortable. WiFi was very spotty - hard to access internet readily. Reported to owners. They plan to check into it. I’d recommend a car with decent clearance - road is a bit rocky in parts to get to place However - can hear river, jungle noises, and private beautiful location Would HIGHLY recommend. Close to town La Fortuna ( 5-7 min drive into town,).Can walk to some very good restaurants in neighborhood ! Can walk to coffee shop and convenient store if needed. Close to El Salto, too - fun rope swing into river ! Thanks Tati & John !

This place was AMAZING! The pictures don’t do it justice. Magdelena had amazing suggestions for local restaurants and excursions. She was also very responsive and helpful if anything did arise. The place was spotless. Although it is not walkable, not was not the point of this place as we wanted to be as immersed in nature as possible. Obviously with being in the rainforest we did have bugs inside often, but from other reviews we expected that. Overall, the most amazing Airbnb experience we have ever had since using this app.

What an amazing place to stay! The views through big windows are beautiful, the outdoor area is stunning, we loved hanging out outside in the evenings and early mornings to watch the birds and listen to the jungle. We have seen more birds in our back yard than at some guided tours in the rainforest. We heard howler monkeys as well. There are frogs that usually come out after it rains and little geckos are adorable. Everything was in working order. The mini split in the downstairs bedroom worked very well. I only wish there was another AC unit upstairs or at least a big ceiling fan as upstairs gets very very warm during the day but it cools off in the evening enough for a comfortable sleep. I highly recommend this accommodation, it was a highlight of our trip.

we loved this place so much we stayed for the second time in 8 days. this is the best place in the area and we will stay here when we travel to the Arenal area. so peaceful and quiet with all kinds of birds and the trees, plants and flowers especially on the walking trails. it's a fairly short walk but worth the time. close to town to walk to everything. the pool is so nice and private. the inside of the cabin is well equipped with comfortable King bed and great shower. the hammock is a nice touch. love this place and highly recommend it because it's awesome and Mau is a great host.

Quaint little cabin in Upala close to Rio Celeste. We lost service while trying to find the place, but I was able to guess exactly where the cabin was because I checked the maps before. This was very private with mountain views, but there is a little bit of road noise from the main road being close. Bed was comfortable and the space was clean. Perfect for 2 people who need just the bare necessities.

Silvia was a great host and facilitated a few tours for us. Lovely trails and cabin. Definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at Cristian's place. It was quiet and a very safe surrounding. Also. we saw a lot of animals (mostly birds) during our stay. Would recommend to anybody.

We’re really glad we chose Silvia’s cozy hideaway tree house. It felt like we were in the middle of the rainforest, yet we were just a short distance from town — the best of both worlds. Waking up to the sounds of birds in the morning was such a treat. The place felt private and peaceful, and although the kitchen is small, it had everything we needed. One small suggestion: a drying rack for clothes would be a great addition, especially for guests coming back from a hot spring or canyoning adventure. All in all, a lovely stay!

My dad and I stayed at Irene’s and she was a tremendous host. She was responsive when we had any questions, the place is serene and beautiful, the pool was awesome, lots of wildlife around including frogs, lizards, basilisks, birds, and toucans. Also, the river was so peaceful to walk to during the day. Thank you Irene!

Excellent cabin, very clean, tidy, easy to get to, the perfect place for a get away from the routine, like plus an air conditioning would be great but still I have no complaint, very nice everything

A little far from everything, very comfortable cabin (even hot water, contrary to the description), with a small terrace on the lake that allows lunch with a hummingbird or fish. Very well indicated, great to be quiet! we recommend it!

We had a wonderful stay at Hubert’s place. Very cozy and peaceful. We could hear and see all kinds of birds and other animals on the balcony. The shower was very nice and clean. We thought there was no AC, but there actually is one. Hubert was very kind and helpful. We wanted to stay longer, which was no problem. Also we forgot that there was no stove and pans to cook. But he offered us to use the kitchen in the house they give their chocolate tours in. Which was close by. He is also working on a building just in front of the cabins to put a kitchen in. So whit that this place will be even nicer to stay. Hubert also gave us a tour in the garden, which was so nice and beautiful. Overall I definitely recommend staying here and hope to come back one day!

The place was excellent perfect view of the volcano in a nice gated area and close to most things. We LOVED the place it was perfect!!

Gerardo was great and the place is very unique. Complimentary coffee was awesome. Bed was a bit firm for me but that’s just personal preference. If you don’t mind being about 25 minutes from downtown La Fortuna, then this place is a must stay!

We loved the place so much, one of the best so far, it is an entire cabin, spacious, comfortable, spotless, has all the basic cooking utensils. Had a private parking right next to the cabin. The surrounding were beautiful, very well maintained, with beautiful plants and a variety of flowers. We heard the birds singing, so peaceful and quiet. Melanie always so attentive, answered promptly our questions, so kind and helpful. For sure we will be back. We loved the place so much, for us it was one of the best. It is a fully equipped cabin with everything you need. With all the cooking utensils, with private parking next to the cabin. The beautiful environment very well maintained with beautiful plants and flowers. We listened to pajaritos cantar. Melanie is an excellent host, always very attentive, quickly answered our questions, very kind to us. Sure we will be back to stay. Lilly and Daniel

We loved our stay here, the cabin is surrounded by nature- which is just what we were looking for. There is a nice king bed- one perk we didn’t realize is housekeeping. We would come home from long hikes to our bed made and fresh towels. Also the breakfast is fabulous and a really good price.
