Located in Uji, one of the settings of the Tale of Genji, it is a house with pure floors, located in a quiet residential neighborhood. During the day, you can enjoy sightseeing spots such as Heiden-in Temple, the Genji Museum, and the Nintendo Museum, as well as experience-based events such as strawberry picking and tea picking. The accommodation was created with care to make it fun for children. There is a 100-inch screen, a loft that looks like a secret base, and hammocks, so children can enjoy themselves freely, and it is a relaxing space where you can enjoy tea time and dinner, such as matcha sweets, while watching over your children. We also have a manga, "Asaki Yumemishi", based on the Tale of Genji, so you can immerse yourself in the elegant world. Strollers, free cycling (4 bikes), and free parking (2 spaces) are also available, making it convenient for getting around by car. Built in the early Showa era and long used as a tea ceremony classroom, the townhouse has been reborn as a private rental inn, "Kyomachiya Cottage karigane". It is a 1-minute walk to the hot springs and Daikokuji Temple, which has deep ties to tea. I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto I started hosting because I love meeting people from all over the world and making new friends. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the house rules before you book.

Terrace bathroom and bamboo tree in house. This house was build 50 years ago. We had created terrace bathroom and bamboo forest in the house. This is entire home maximum 6 persons can stay. There are two bed rooms on the second floor. One double bed (1-2 persons) + other Tatami room with double bed (1-2 persons). We have 2 extra single mattress bed each room. This is very good for two families or groups maximum for 6 persons. You can also use backyard BBQ garden patio.
