Although temperatures remain relatively constant throughout the year the weather is marked by two distinctive seasons: the rainy season (May to October) and the dry season (November to April). During the rainy season the mountains and volcanoes surrounding the lake are verdant green. The mornings are generally crystal clear, while the afternoons bring spectacular showers that are a sight to behold as they roll in over the lake. During the dry season it is rare to receive any precipitation at all. La Casa Colibri has five luxurious guest rooms each with en-suite bath. Four rooms have spacious balconies overlooking the lake. Two rooms have deep soak tubs with separate showers. Casa Serenidad is a lakefront cottage with lush gardens secluded enough to be alone with nature, but within 3-5 minutes away from Isla Verde, a hotel with a restaurant that offers delicious food, and it’s usually open to the public. The property is only accessible by boat but its approx. a 15 minute walk to the town of Santa Cruz, and very close to kayak and paddle board rentals.
