Beautiful interior! It’s so nice waking up to the sun shining through the curtains. Very clean appliances, makes tidying up very easy.

Shared bicycles can be rented next door to the room, making it easy to get around

Very comfortable, well located accommodation. Only a few minutes walk to train line and bus stops so catching public transport to different areas of Kyoto. Within walking distance to Nishiki market and great shops. Clear instructions for easy check-in and check out. Great to have access to a washing machine.

We had a wonderful stay at May’s place. She was super responsive and gave very clear instructions about how to work things, how to get to her place etc. The location was perfect. Very close walk to Nishiki market, restaurants and other amenities. Would definitely stay here again!

This was the best accommodation during our Japan travel. The place was so spacious compared to the other places we stayed at in Japan, and even the bathroom which I found very small in general around Japan was very big here. Especially loved the outdoor bath!! A baby cot and bath tub were provided and our baby slept beautifully during the stay. Our futons were comfortable too.

This was the perfect place for our family to stay in Kyoto. Noriko and her son were incredibly gracious hosts. They made check-in and check-out really easy, and we had great communication before and after our stay. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. The location is ideal — in the middle of just about everything you want to do in Kyoto, and walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants. I think my favorite thing was the cypress ofuro (bathtub) with digital temperature control — pure bliss!

Chie & Chris's place is located in a tiny, very quiet alley in the heart of Gion. There are several temples & shrines located within walking distance, & we found incredible restaurants nearby. They gave us clear instructions on what to tell the cab driver to get there, & self check-in was easy. The accomodations were pristinely clean. The master bedroom with a large Western style bed is upstairs, & the steps are steep which was no issue for us at all but might be for elderly, injured, or handicapped folks. My 6'5" husband had to be careful to duck under door frames because of his height but staying in a historic machiya was worth the small effort. Our 14-year-old son slept on a futon on the main level & loved it. Communication was excellent, & they gave us numerous recommendations for restaurants. There is a Lawson konbini & a grocery store close by, as well as a quaint bar across the alley. We loved being within walking distance of the action coupled with the quietness of the night.

We had a relaxing time and enjoyed this lovely home. We stayed for 5 days in May 2025. We arrived super early and was allowed to drop off our bags before check-in which we appreciated a lot because we had huge luggages that would not have fit in the lockers at the train station. We wanted to experience a traditional Japanese home with an onsen and be a bit away from city center. It was a residential area and was a 5 minute walk to Fushimi Inari Shrine. The home is lovely, comfortable and clean. The massage chair was a big bonus and helped us relax every night. Owner was very responsive. I asked for additional towels and received them the next day. Would come back again.

There were many bedrooms and a large hot spring, making it a comfortable place to stay for three generations.I went to Nagashi Masparand, so the location was also great!

We loved our stay at Yamano’s place. The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet, but it was just a short walk to the river, bus stop, and train station. The hosts were extremely responsive and kind. They met us at check in to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. They also sent suggestions for restaurants and things to do in the area.

We stayed here for few days during our Japan trip. The house was beautiful and you can get a true guesthouse experience. Location was good, in a quiet neighborhood and not too far from public services and some good temple sights with almost zero crowds. Owner was very kind and responded quickly to any questions. Book this if you want to experience living in a traditional Japanese residence.

Super cool house with tatami flooring but beds are extremely comfortable. You feel like you are living in history. It has all the modern comforts. AC heating etc. close to Kyoto station. Lots of taxis around. Host is super kid too. Have great recommendations on restaurants Would stay again.

Fumika-san is a great host! Very understanding, calm and kind, responds quickly, went to meet and greet us at the bus stop, which was very considerate. Highly recommend the place to anyone! Clean, spacious, a traditional experience with tatami and futon❤️ all the amenities are available, we loved everything!🌸🌸🌸🌸

Our host Ichiashi responded to messages instantly, which always made us feel safe, and was always open to questions. The house was like a dream, you feel like you are in a Japanese house. The bicycles waiting for you in front of the house are perfect for experiencing the spirit of Kyoto. The host has even prepared a map for you for places to visit in Kyoto. Peace flows in through the windows overlooking the backyard of the house. Everything from iron to plate, from coffee to shampoo, even bath salts for the bathtub has been thought of inside the house. The Nozemi house was a really great experience! The hosts were very kind, easy going, and were responsive. The apartment itself was bigger than expected, and the walk to the JR line / Aeon Mall was shorter than expected (~12 minutes). The only recommendation would be to provide clear instructions for the washer / dryer use, and rice cooker use. Thank you!

Great for a large group with very well equipped kitchen and heated flooring. Check in process was a little lengthy and car park was tricky to find as it was further from the house - we had to stop at a random car park first before double checking the photo directions. Second car used coin parking that was very near the house and capped at 500Y for 24h. Overall very clean and comfortable place wish we could stay longer! Very worth what we paid.

The location is very good, the function and transportation are excellent, three or five friends gathered in the large living room, making the night more fun; only one toilet is a more troublesome place, but it still does not detract from the beauty

Comfortable stay, had all the accommodations we needed. Was spacious and the apartment was clean. The host was very responsive and friendly to our questions. The place is located walking distance away from the temple. Beautiful neighborhood with lots of things to do and minutes away from local bus stops. Being so close to major tourist sights made it easy to get up early in the morning and avoid the crowds.
