Mileto's isn't overly well-known and they aren't overly trendy, but they do great, tasty, food that is generous in size and lovingly prepared. Great value for money brunch in a spacious, quirky interior with friendly staff. We love the Sportivo and their big breakfast.

If we've got a hankering for a quick Vietnamese bún or pho, Hanoi Hannah is where we go. Small little popular restaurant that's only open for lunch and almost always busy (but they'll squeeze you in, don't worry!). If it's dinner or something fancier you're after, pay her big sister, Saigon Sally, a visit. She's just a few streets over, only open for dinner and is decidedly more upmarket.

This great little cafe is another local favourite away from the hustle & bustle of Chapel Street. Justin actually runs the cafe here, so we're a little biased - ha! But in all fairness, it's a lovely spot for a good coffee and a delicious brunch. Truly.

Incredible assortment of great vodkas (even for non-vodka lovers!). These guys have been around forever and they know they're stuff and they're happy to let you meander through the menu or offer suggestions. Great place to catch up with friends and sip on tasty, tasty cocktails. Open till late as well.

If you look up and you see a trail of giant pink elephants, you've found the Windsor Castle. A local favourite for weeknight and weekend sessions. The atmosphere is laid-back and they have a great tiki-esque beer garden out back. Food is respectable too.

Another laid-back local, Tyranny is just off Chapel and is housed in what was once an old petrol station. Remnants of her previous life can still be found in the decor with old auto-related bits everywhere. Happy hour is a respectable 3 hours from 4pm-7pm everyday. Not our favourite place for food though.

Parks & Nature

Locally beloved, the 'Tan' as we call it, is home to large beautiful gardens, ambling paths, great cafes/restaurants, a concert venue, a memorial or two amongst other things. Great for a jog, a casual stroll or just to laze with a good book. In the summer, they show movies in the park here. If this is your sort of thing, it's definitely worth a visit. It's located close to us (take the tram and its a 2 minute walk OR take the train for 2 super quick stops and a 5-10 minute walk) and right next to the city so you can wander over after if you're keen.

Arts & Culture

Great museum that showcases both local and international artists. Just recently we had Ai Wei Wei, Whistler and Andy Warhol. Check out their website for more info.

Shopping

From the Windsor end of Chapel Street all the way up to the South Yarra end of Chapel Street (two suburbs up) you will find tons of shops, cafes and restaurants. Our end (Windsor) is more focused on food & beverage with some shops speckled here and there. Through Prahran, it evens out, and by South Yarra, there are more shops that dining/drinking options. A great way to spend a morning or afternoon.
