Head down Emerald Ave away from the beach and follow the trail behind the fire station. Keep veering to the right and you will start climb and end up at 'Pearlie Ponds'. Keep following the ponds as far as you feel like. There's even one with a rope swing you can swim in. A hidden gem.

For those not familiar with Pearl Beach, here's a brief overview that will help you make the most of your time while here. The south end (towards Patonga) is very family friendly typically with minimal waves and an ocean pool. If there has been heavy rains then a fresh water lagoon forms which is great for kids who like to paddle. The north end (towards Umina) is called the 'dumpers' end as it can be very rough with a very close to the shore break meaning you get dumped a lot. Only for strong swimmers and those that love getting dumped.
