Canada's first national urban park and home to an amazing combination of natural, cultural and agricultural features including 1,700 species of plants and animals, over 10,000 years of human history, and some of the rarest and best remaining wetlands, forests and agricultural lands in the Greater Toronto Area.

Rouge National Urban Park’s hiking trails travel through a variety of landscapes, including meadows, forests, wetlands, and farmland. Enjoy views of the Rouge and Little Rouge rivers, wander through mature forests, stroll past active farm fields and explore the rich history of the area. Also, some farm markets are available in the area. You won’t believe you’re still in the city!

Rouge Park is the reason I moved to the area (combined with easy access to downtown, of course, otherwise I'd just move to Algonquin)... There is an endless jungle of trails to hike, run or bike, or extend your trip and stay the night at the Glen Rouge Camp Ground.
