Tips from locals
This is a beautiful spot at the top of the 108 pass. We often go here in hot weather to escape some of the heat. There are hiking trails, a store, camping, horseback riding, and a restaurant. It’s one of those places that you think only exists in movies.
Feels like you’re stepping back in time, with all the horses and Cowboys and the old last chance saloon. Enjoy dining on the Front porch of the lodge watching packhorses and cowboys go buys you dine. They serve up the best Cowboy food, as well as nightly specials and the best trout dinner you’ll ever have. Don’t forget to take a stroll on the trail up to the Bridge that crosses over the Stanislaus river to the beginning of the Emigrant Wilderness Trail.
