The best view from the top located 40 minutes west of Clatskanie, drive highway 30, left on 16th in Astoria and follow signs to Astoria column.

This is Astoria's main attraction. The view from up here is incredible. There is a $5 parking fee if you drive up. IF you want to climb the column, consider purchasing a small glider plane at the gift shop to toss off the top. This place is a good spot for sunsets but make sure you bring something warm to wear. It can get chilly.

Be sure to visit the gift shop when you go to the column and pick up a paper airplane to fly from the top.

you can throw a toy airplane off the top. must do. plus beautiful views

Take the kids and burn them out climbing the stairs to the top of the Column. Fantastic views.
