In spite of the weird name, strongly recommend this spot for weekend brunch.

Jack Tar - the modern upscale diner on the lefthand side. It's really the pancakes for us. The Colonel's Daughter - take the door to the right and you all the sudden find yourself in a hip little bar with personable bartenders and great drinks.

A modern diner in the heart of downtown, Jack Tar is open all day and is simply a lovely space to hang out. They also have the fanciest orange juice squeezer I’ve ever seen. Recommended: The Pancakes! May be the best I’ve ever had (don’t tell my mom).
