If you like architecture, beautiful boats, or eccentric historical figures who ran with the likes of the Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., and Bing Crosby, then you must tour the Thunderbird Lodge on the Lake. Book your tour at the Visitor's Center. You won't be disappointed! Warning: This is a tour on foot, so bring comfy shoes.

This is a cool place to check-out! Talk about going back in time. In 1935, Captain George Whittell Jr. purchased the 27 miles of Lake Tahoe shoreline and nearly 40,000 acres from Norman Biltz. It encompassed essentially 95% of the Nevada shoreline of Lake Tahoe — all of the land from Crystal Bay, Incline Village, Sand Harbor, Glenbrook, Cave Rock, and Zephyr Cove to Round Hill. Long story short, it is NOW open to the pubic for tours. Cool place go check it out!

If you are visiting the Tahoe area between May and September, the Thunderbird Lodge tour is a must see! They offer two different ways to visit the lodge: Arrive by car to the Incline Village visitors center and shuttle over to the lodge. This tour cost $45 per person. Or, depart from Zephyer Cove on an antique wooden boat, and cruise along the East shore to the lodge. The boat tour package includes a tour of the lodge followed by lunch. This package cost $149 per person. Either way you get there, you will not be disappointed. The Thunderbird Lodge and it's origional owner are a rich part of Lake Tahoe history.
