On the city's eastern fringe, on the road to Parque das Nações, the hulking former headquarters of an arms manufacturer now houses this thriving cultural centre. As well as nightly dance classes, it hosts concerts of everything from fado to classical music on Wednesdays, Fridays (normally jazz night) and Saturdays. On Thursdays there are free jam sessions and at other times anyone can play the bar piano. There are also film screenings and talks on philosophy, and exhibitions by local artists. The restaurant serves tasty snacks and does well-priced set menus.

An old powder factory transformed into a cultural centre, with several rooms with live music, art exhibitions, book shop, bar. It's far from the city center but it's worth a visit! There are buses but best to take a taxi/uber.
