Winter racetrack. Season really gets going in November with thoroughbred racing until end of March, when the horse people clear out for New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival organizers.

Entrances off of Gentilly and Fortin, the Fair Grounds is home to the annual Jazz Festival. Always the last weekend of April and first weekend of May.
